Your degree will culminate with a professional internship during your last term that will provide you with experience in the interior design industry. It will consist of a course component and a minimum 180 hours interning in the field. This program cannot be completed entirely online. Some courses are available as hybrid, a combination of online and traditional college courses.
Graduates qualify forentry-level positions with interior design studios, architectural firms,furniture and design showrooms, and other businesses specializing in interiorfurnishings. Types of career positions include interior designer, designassistant, sales representatives, CAD operator, interior decorator, merchandisedisplayer, and space planner. Designers are needed to respond to consumerexpectations that the interiors of homes and businesses meet certainconditions, such as being environmentally friendly or more easily accessible.
Graduates of this program fulfill the educational requirements needed for eligibility to take the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam. When compared to Sketchup, Revit is a much more sophisticated and complex solution.
