Epson r2880 printer loaded with Piezography ink set.
3-4 months ago the Ink light came on. All 8 cartridges were refilled/topped up using the Refillable Cartridge System. The cartridge chips were reset using ACC-Resetter-SF. All 8 cartridges were snapped into the printer. When checked to make sure all the cartridges were full using Printer Utility 4 Version 9 or Print Utility 4 version 9.6, all cartridges registered as full and the Ink light went out. Printer made excellent prints.

A few months later, the ink light came on again. I filled the cartridge indicated by the Leds above each cartridge. The printer worked fine but after a few prints, another led lit up. I topped up and reset all the cartridges. None of the leds above each cartridge were on, the ink level was to the top in each cartridge (no air bubbles). I cleaned the pins with piezoflushe before inserting the cartridges. When I went to print, the printer started the print cycle and then quit and the ink light came on. The Epson status monitor said there was a communication error. This was unlikely to be a damaged cable because the cable was essentially untouched since the last print. I also connected the printer to a different computer with the Piezography print driver and Print Tool and got the same results.

Problems Using EPSON Status Monitor 3The Current Status menu shows "A communication error has occurred."CauseWhat to doThe printer is turned off.Make sure that the power cord is properly plugged into the electrical outlet. Turn on the printer. The printer is running a self-test or initializing itself.Turn off the printer to terminate the self-test, and then turn it on again. Allow the printer enough time to finish initialization. The printer is not ready to print.

You cannot use EPSON Status Monitor 3 and EpsonNet WinAssist at the same time. Quit EpsonNet WinAssist and use EPSON Status Monitor 3. If you use EpsonNet WinAssist, quit EPSON Status Monitor 3 first.

Double-click Services in the Control Panel and stop the EPSON Printer Status Agent service. Restart EPSON Status Monitor 3 and then restart the service. This procedure must be repeated every time you log on to Windows NT 4.0.

Verify that EPSON Status Monitor 3 is installed in the computer hosting the Windows shared printer, and be sure that the Allow monitoring of shared printers check box is checked in the Monitoring Preferences dialog box.

Even with successful communication between User's source IP and Dst IP, we are seeing tcp-rst-from-client , which is raising some queries for me personally. Are both these reasons are normal , If not, then how to distinguish whether this reason is due to some communication problem.

@Jimmy20, Normally these are the session end reasons. Now depending on the type like TCP-RST-FROM-CLIENT or TCP-RST-FROM-SERVER, it tells you who is sending TCP reset and session gets terminated. It does not mean that firewall is blocking the traffic. It means session got created between client-to-server but it got terminated from any of the end (client or server) and depending on who sent the TCP reset, you will see session end result under traffic logs. And once the session is terminated, it is getting reestablish with new traffic request and thats why not seeing as such problems with the traffic flow.

Thanks for reply, What you replied is known to me. But i was searching for - '"Can we consider communication between source and dest if session end reason is TCP-RST-FROM-CLIENT or TCS-RST-FROM-SERVER , boz as i mentioned in initial post i can see TCP-RST-FROM-CLIENT for a succesful transaction even, However it shuld be '"tcp-fin" or something except TCP-RST-FROM-CLIENT. if it is reseted by client or server why it is considered as sucessfull.

TCP RST flag may be sent by either of the end (client/server) because of fatal error. So if you take example of TCP RST flag, client trying to connect server on port which is unavailable at that moment on the server.

Now in case, for a moment particular server went unavailable then RST will happen and user even don't know about this situation and initiated new request again And at that time may be that server became available and after that connection was successful. So In this case, if you compare sessions, you will find RST for first session and 2nd should be TCP-FIN. So like this, there are multiple situations where you will see such logs.

Does anyone really have a solution for this? So far, I have not seen any concrete solution. I put a device that communicates with an online server with no problem. I insert the PA FW between that line of traffic, all of a sudden, we get tcp-rst from the server or vice-versa. What causes the problem and do we solve it is what everyone is seeking as a guide or repsonse. I think most technical people understand how tcp works.

The printer works beautiful, except for when it isn't used for a couple days, which it will say "Offline". Troubleshooting in Windows 10 just says it's not powered on, but it clearly is. When I check the network status on the printer, it says still connected. I'm unable to ping it when it says offline.

Sometimes rebooting the router will cause it to come back, but usually I have to remove the printer completely, and re-add it manually using the IP Address. It doesn't come up as an addable device for some reason, which is the reason for manually adding it.

One possible fix I found said to go to the port configuration and disable SNMP. (SNMP Fix Tutorial)However, when I click on "Configure Port...", I get an error. Also, the port name is very odd looking.

So I deleted the printer, and re-added it using the hostname instead of the IP address. I have the epson software already installed, and it says all drivers are up to date. When I try to run the Epson Event Manager, with the printer added, it says

I Am Ella and am here to assist you regarding the HP printer setup on your flexible timing. Are you interested in setup an HP printer- tap the link , or use our toll-free number to get in touch with us instantly.

This "offline" error occurs because you are using the IP address directly and not the network name of it (usually EPSONXXXXXX). There is a "DHCP Lease" that expires every so often. This lease tells the network to assign a specific IP address to the printer until the lease expires, then the IP can change, and in your case, it looks like it does frequently.

I would suggest deleting the epson from the computer, trying to download the latest driver, an run the network configuration again. Make sure the Epson Event Manager is installed, so your computer can communicate with the printer. Allow it through your computer's firewall.

I use a static IP address for the printer. It should not make a difference if the DHCP lease expires. still experience the disconnects every so often. Powering the printer off and on resolves the issue.

It actually almost made me want to RETURN this printer! We have the Epson ET-2760 version & it does the EXACT SAME thing; every 2-6 hours... literally we use it every day and so every morning I must re-enter the password to our internet connection using the arrows on the LCD screen--- it's had me in despair & desperation in moments of high stress when needing an immediate printed invoice etc!

I spent all day trying to print from my mobile and getting printer not ready message. Checked IPS Mac addresses router settings pulling my hair out but was on a mission. What an idiot I am it turns out my VPN was on. Disconnected it and everything fine again.

After reading this, I checked my wifi rate. It was at the 2-4 ghz signal. I deleted the printer from both Windows 10 PC and MAC pro, added the printers, and both were able to print. My printer is an Epson ET 4550

Your printer cannot print if the printer drivers are outdated or corrupted. It is possible to resolve this issue simply by updating or reinstalling the drivers on your computer. The process of updating the printer driver is simple and quick. You can also reinstall eh printer drivers with these steps:

I have an Epson St-M3000. It loses it's wired network connection after about 30 minutes. I must press the button on the printer to re-initialize the connection. This is unworkable in a school environment. My HP, Canon and Ricoh printers never lose connection to the network.

Possible Cause: Often EDVR errors are caused when you misspell the interface name of your board or the device name of your instrument. For example, the default interface name for NI boards is GPIB0, but you may misspell it as GPIBO (with an "oh" instead of a zero). This error may also occur if the board index passed to the ibdev function is incorrect. The board index is the number portion of the interface name for the GPIB board, but many people make the incorrect assumption that it is the primary address of the board. For example, I may install a PCI-GPIB board in my computer and give a primary address of 2. The default interface name for board is GPIB0, so it has a board index of 0, not 2.

Description: Certain functions require your GPIB board to be the CIC - these functions are noted in the NI-488.2 Function Reference Manual (see the Related Link, below). By default, your GPIB board will be the System Controller, but this is not the same as being the Controller-In-Charge. The System Controller has the ability to become the CIC at any time (there can be one System Controller on a given General Purpose Interface Bus).

Description: GPIB communications require a single Talker (to write data messages) and one or more Listeners (to read data messages). ENOL usually occurs when a write operation is attempted, but no Listeners are addressed or there are no Listeners at the specified address(es). For a device write, ENOL indicates that the GPIB address you are attempting to communicate with does not match the GPIB address of the device connected to the bus.
