Hi all

I attempted to play with your OFX files this past weekend which has completely wrecked my Resolve!!

I cannot find an uninstaller for your package which I desperately need to repair my Resolve, it won’t load anything now and BMD have advised me to remove any OFX immediately - please advise ASAP how I can remove any trace in my Library so I can make my deadline!!

Or please point me in the right direction if you can’t help me.

Thanks so much :)

Best

Hi Shane,

For removing OFX plugins you need to find where you've install your plugins.
These plugins can be in placed here:
- for Mac : /Library/OFX/Plugins
- for Linux: /usr/OFX/Plugins
- for Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins

But it they can be aslo detected with the OFX_PLUGIN_PATH environment variable.

You need to be carefull about deleting some external libraries, to not delete some libraries who Resolve can also need ...

Is it possible to have more information about your platform ? and the install procedure of Tuttle you've made ?

Cheers,

Thanks for the prompt response Marc!

I’m on Mavericks, I downloaded OFX bundles from The OpenFX Project and TuttleOFX.

I’ve uninstalled Resolve and I’ve found the folder in my Library - can I just delete or does it require an installer?

Hi Shane,

Sorry to hear that. We have not tested TuttleOFX plugins in Resolve, so it may have some incompatibilities.
There is no uninstaller, because there is no installer.

So there are 3 ways to load OFX plugins:
- standard path for each platform, indicated by Marc-Antoine
- setting the environment variable OFX_PLUGIN_PATH
If it's your case, you can just change that variable.
- indicate the path to the plugins from within Resolve
In that case, just move the OFX plugins in an other directory and Resolve will no longer see them.

Regards,
Fabien

I’ve uninstalled Resolve
You don't need to uninstall Resolve just for that...

I’m on Mavericks, I downloaded OFX bundles from The OpenFX Project and TuttleOFX.
Ok

and I’ve found the folder in my Library - can I just delete or does it require an installer?
Yes, you should found the TuttleOFX plugins inside "/Library/OFX/Plugins". You could remove them.

Hi Fabien

I uninstalled Resolve on the advice from tech support.

I've completely removed all OFX from my library yet Resolve still crashes after stating it has been forced to disable OFX!!

I'm totally stumped! With a deadline approaching and logical solutions not working!!

Could you try to remove that directory too?
/opt/TuttleOFX

Which version of MacOS are you using?

I'm a little late here but, for posterity, pkgutil allows to list what and where files have been installed by a pkg :

$ pkgutil --pkgs # list all installed packages
$ pkgutil --files the-package-name.pkg # list installed files

Removing all those files is sufficient.
In your case, as Fabien and Marc-Antoine said, removing OFX plugins so that Resolve doesn't try to load them was enough.

Hi Shane,

If you deleted the /TuttleOFX directory from the /Library/OFX/Plugins/ directory then everything should be ok.

Are you running the latest version of Resolve? Earlier versions of Resolve 10 did crash when Tuttle OFX Plugins were installed but in the most recent versions Resolve simply disables the OFX Plugins when it detects that they could cause a crash. I've been running Resolve with TuttleOFX plugins installed on my system for several months without any problems. So if you're running the latest Resolve Version the problem might come from somewhere else.

Good luck mate,

Nejib.

Hi all

Thanks so much for your help here.

I think somehow during this process my Library has become corrupted? It was working great before last weekend when I installed the bundle.

Now totally wrecked, will not launch Resolve.

Please see attached the crash logs and system info if that gives you guys any clues? I'm waiting on Resolve tech support to analysis them also but I suspect a system reinstall is in my future.

Thanks again.

Hey all

Thanks for the support last week, I just wanted to give you some feedback.

I had to reinstall the entire system over the weekend but I managed to retain all my data so all is well.

FYI BMD don’t seem to want to support your OFX at this time and had no idea why installing them had wrecked my system so badly.

I understand one of you has the plugins working fine with Resolve so they must be good, but quite why they killed my machine certainly needs working on!!

Thanks again chaps, stay in touch.

Intriguing story. Your log files refer to GPU errors, so I don't see the link with tuttle.
I have to test Tuttle in Resolve one day...

Thanks for the feedback.

I too tried TuttleOFX with Resolve (Resolve 11 Lite) and Resolve crashed the first time I tried opening it, then it crashed when I opened the FX window. Removed from plugins and from /opt and I still get a warning when launching Resolve, but no crash.

Hi Kevin,

You have tested on macos with the prebuild package ?
Currently, no developer has tested the TuttleOFX plugins in Resolve. There are always some minor adjustments to work correctly in another host application. It's something really interesting to do, but it takes time... The other reason is that TuttleOFX is not yet adapted for Resolve. TuttleOFX is currently CPU only and Resolve is oriented for GPU processing in realtime without caching... We are using TuttleOFX plugins mainly in Nuke which does intensive caching.

Thanks for the feedback.
