Katy and Dinshaw are taken by the police for interrogation. She constantly blames Cyrus for the murders, but the police find no evidence of any person named Cyrus existing in Panchgani. Katy and Dinshaw are arrested for the murders, while Tina is sent home after being told that she was lucky to be away at that time.
Cyrus Mistry:
[narrating when being let in by the Sethnas in Panchgani] It was really as simple as that. This would be my home for the following year. At first I thought it may have been Dinshaw's need for a pottery assistant, which he had advertised for. But somehow Katy's eagerness to allow me in, told me that I'd be doing a lot more than just getting my hands dirty with clay.
Whether it's to surprise us, to delight us, or even irritate us at times (no one will let Facebook live down the Newsfeed, even though we're all hooked on it now), when done well, business innovations both anticipate change and lead us towards new ways of being. Cyrus continues to provoke, in more ways than one.
In March, Schwarzenegger was spotted getting cozy with another woman while on spring break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He tweeted shortly afterwards to clear up that they were just friends, insisting he'd never "do anything against" his girlfriend -- that being Cyrus.
Another justification is that the L-1B visa, like the H-1B visa, is used to facilitate outsourcing. In other words, US workers are replaced by L-1B visa workers who are paid less, and the jobs eventually get transferred to India. One can understand the concern about US workers being replaced by foreign workers, but this does not explain why a company which has a proprietary product that is sold to US financial services clients should get adversely impacted with an arbitrary denial of its L-1B visa application for a specialized knowledge employee.
THOMPSON: Yeah, I really love this song. I think it's easy for us to sit here and kind of laugh about somebody who's 30 singing a song called "Used to Be Young," but that's a really universal part of being that age. You know, the first time I was lamenting how old I was, I was probably 26. But it's also specific to Miley Cyrus, who's been a tabloid fixture. And, you know, the song is addressing kind of the moments in her past. I really like the fact that this song doesn't feel like it's trend-hopping. It feels really personal and real, like she's kind of seizing control of her own narrative. You even hear some of the echoes of kind of her country roots in the arrangement. It feels relatable in a way that I think has a lot of power.
RKK: Well, it's nice to be back. We were just chatting coming down here - this is our 23rd chance to welcome our first draft pick - and we think back to our first one, when we welcomed Willie McGinest. We had won 14 games in the previous four years from 1990 to 1993. We were drafting number four to get Willie and I remember in that draft when we welcomed a lot of the people we'd say, 'Welcome to New England', and they didn't know where New England was. I asked Cyrus [Jones] on the way down and he knew where it was so that was a very positive upgrade. The good news is Cyrus will be wearing a special number to our family, number 24, and there's a lot of good karma that goes with that number. The transition with the way college ball is today to the NFL, it's a big transition, but he couldn't have gone to a better prep school in Alabama where being athletic, versatile - he went to Alabama as a wide receiver and converted to cornerback. I know down there with Coach [Nick] Saban football has to be important to you, and I know how important it is to him. We're very excited to have him here and I was asking him if there was some connection that we could have between the two of us, going back to when Jerod Mayo said, 'Mayo and Kraft go well together'. He said Clamp and Kraft go well together, and I guess Clamp Clampington is a name that your best friend gave you. So, without any further ado it's my great pleasure to introduce number 24, Cyrus Jones.
CJ: Unbelievable. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Honestly, it's a dream come true being in the best program in the National Football League and the best organization. Great ownership, great coaching, great locker room. I'm excited.
CJ: Definitely, definitely. Special teams are a key part of the game and I'm a punt returner. I enjoy that. That's one of the things I love most about playing football. I love having the ball in my hands and being able to make a play for my team, so I'm looking forward to being back there returning.
CJ: I haven't actually talked to him yet. I just asked somebody where he was but I'm pretty sure he'll tell me the same things that I've already been hearing. Just the similarities from Alabama and it just being that type of environment where you've just got to come in, earn the respect of the veterans in the locker room, just do your job, and wait for your number to be called.
CJ: Social media is one of those things where you have to control and just discipline yourself to not pay too much attention to it. As you get older people, tend to stray away from social media and I'm already starting to, at least trying to, and just being more aware of what I put out there and knowing that I can't respond to everything that somebody says. That's definitely something that myself and fellow rookies just have to understand, that we have to be responsible in that aspect, that we're not only representing ourselves but our families and this organization.
Rhetoric is arguably of more importance than the message that is being overtly conveyed. Therefore, it is of great importance to understand how rhetoric can be utilized to convey one message while simultaneously transmitting another distinct message (Walter 2017). In this study, discourse analysis was conducted by examining the rhetoric associated with the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (VCCLE), through the use of legislative speeches and newspaper articles, to determine how language has effectively resulted in the relegation of felony offenders within a class-based society. Utilizing two theories, class structure theory and distributive justice theory, an understanding was gained as to how the rhetoric utilized for the enactment of the VCCLE has affected the lives of felony offenders overall.
The main question posed for this research is how did the use of certain language to enact the VCCLE effect felony offenders post release, broadly? The conclusions of this research suggest that the use of language embedded with messages of division and preference helped to facilitate separations in society based on class, as well as facilitated ways to order individuals regarding benefits and resources. It was ultimately concluded, based on the following analysis, that felony offenders were portrayed as being inferior to other citizens and considered less worthy as a result. Thus, the rhetoric utilized before the enactment of this legislation demonstrated how the characteristics of a newly formed caste system was created, and subsequently led to the overall relegation of felony offenders regarding society.
