How can we help you now:
=> Im getting error when trying to load into the server after structures load it is a COQ error. not sure but saw some other similar tickets for paragon and not loading. I can load into oher servers fine.
In front-loading heat-treating kilns, you have concentrated heat on the sides of a narrow tube. The heat is just where you need it! In front loading glass kilns, you have the advantage of being able to load complicated constructions directly onto the shelf at hip level and are able to manipulate hot construction more easily without a rush of hot air coming directly at you.
You'll get the volume of a top loader and the convenience of a front loader. Front-loaders offer easier access to projects within the kiln. In glass models, whether its loading drip crucibles for castings, drying molds, deep drops, multi-stage slump molds, or other projects, front loaders reign supreme. In ceramics and pottery, loading from back to front makes it much easier to position pieces and parts for the best heat penetration.
No matter your height or the depth of your kiln, a front-loader can have some great add-ons that make working on any medium easier. You can add elements on the door and roof that consolidate heat, just like top loaders! It really is the best of both worlds!
I just used Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition 2014 on my Windows 8 to transfer space from one of my Windows logical partition to my Ubuntu Linux partition (I have only one partition for Ubuntu). After the operation, the software gave me a message: "If you have Linux installed, please reinit its boot loader". I do not know how I am supposed to reinit its boot loader or what exactly a boot loader is (besides Grub). So, what do I do before I reboot my computer. I am not fond of broken loading screens.
Has anyone had good results with the Paragon Firefly kiln for metal
work? I know it is a top loader rather than a side loader. Can I
still use a top loader for enameling and crucible melts, or would
that be to dangerous? I would also be interested in providing a good
home to a well-used Firely at half current retail.
There are 2 paragon title, the bug only happens with the paragon title from the first column.
Equipping it is not a problem, but after the next loading screen it removes the equipped title. If i go back and edit my titles again, the right column one is still selected but the left column is all the way at the top with nothing selected.
I'm using an old 18" kiln, and I'm ready for a larger one (27x28 at least). It looks like L&L is out of my price range, so I'm looking at Skutt and Paragon. The Paragons seems considerably cheaper than the Skutts, which makes me wonder if I'm comparing apples to oranges in terms of quality. I would only fire it a couple of times a month, since I would use it for larger sculptures, so I don't need a heavy duty production model. I'd like something that can be added to with additional rings, but I'm also considering an oval kiln. I haven't yet seen an oval that can be added to with additional rings. I'd like to go for the Paragon's price, but don't want to ignore my mother's frequent admonition that "you get what you pay for"! Any advice is appreciated....
The price for a particular size kiln also varies depending on the kiln series rather than only the brand. Paragon offers several 10.57 cubic foot (28" x 29" interior) kilns: among them the Viking-28 and TnF-28-3. The Viking is more expensive than the TnF-28-3 because the Viking has mercury relays, built-in 30 amp CC fuses, and is a 60 amp kiln while the TnF-28-3 is a 48 amp kiln.
Thanks for the insight into the different features that need to be considered. I was seeing larger price differences because I was actually comparing an Olympic (which does seem to be much cheaper) to the Paragon and the Skutt. Can you suggest a source or sources for information about the different features and their function in electric kilns? It's clear that I need to consider a lot more than the interior measurements of a kiln in making a purchase. Thanks, Jayne
A 3 phase circuit is more efficient to wire than single phase. It takes smaller breakers and thinner circuit wires. For this reason, industrial buildings are often wired in 3 phase. And some electric companies charge less for 3 phase power than single phase, because of reduced distribution costs.
I have both a Skutt and a Paragon. The Skutt has been firing since 1974, have never changed elements in it. I only go up to cone 5 in it. I've had the Paragon about 25 years now, I suppose. I do need to change out some elements in it as they are sagging pretty bad in places. I used to fire to cone 9 in it, now I am firing at cone 6.
They both have manual kiln sitters. The Paragon's doesn't drop anymore. In fact it started "sticking" not long after I purchased it. I replaced it a couple years ago and it worked for a couple firings and then it began to stick again. So I just use large witness cones viewable via the peep hole to fire.
I am using a front loader and my heart yearns for a top loader. I had a gas kiln that top loaded and it was much easier to position the shelves because I didn't have to hold the shelf out in front of me. It did have brick walls on which I could rest my weight. Another disadvantage of the front loader is that you can only see the setting from one direction. On a top loader you can see it 300.
I just checked some pricing on various web sites. Most of the L&L, Paragon and Skutt kilns are priced within about $100 of each other. So if you want an L&L, it's possible. Feel free to PM or call me if you have specific questions about repair costs on the various brands, or have L&L questions. There are sectional models made for loading sculpture, too.
For the past 20 years, SL had a huge dilemma for couples dance animations due to tech limitations: You cannot get the best alignment without sitting on a prim, but the prim requires rezzing/or rez rights.
With our discovery and proprietary scripting, the Paragon Couples Dance HUD is a revolutionary break-through that will allow the users of Second Life to use couples animations anywhere without the need to rez anything.
1. Make sure your and your partner's viewer is RLVa enabled through Preferences
2. Send your partner the Partner HUD to wear
3. Hit Play to choose and invite your partner to dance.
BAM! Show off your Paragon couples dances anywhere in public.
v.2 Newest Features:
- Compatible with 3rd party couple dances with the personal loader hud (see below for compatible brands)
- Web-based Media Sequencer - no notecards, just enable the media prim and fill in the fields.
- Hover Control Panel - height adjustment w/ saving functionality for each avatar.
- Delete dance function added in the menu.
- Avatars no longer walk towards each other before the dance.
- Optimized functions, improvements and fixed minor bugs since v.1 (see change log)
A: The hud is now universal to all copy/no transfer animation files with the personal loader. However, every brand has their own way of exporting couples dances into SL; therefore, not all couples animation will align properly.
Here is a list of major dance brands based on how well their couples dance animations will align.
Q: How do I load my Paragon couples dances into the HUD?
A: For your convenience, we created pre-loaded dances in [Loader] HUDs. Check your couples dance packs for [Loader] Hud or have a dance pack redelivered for the most recent version. Wear the [Loader] HUD with your main HUD for 1-click to load your dances. No more inconvenient hud rezzing, drag & drop.
Q: How do I load non-Paragon couples dances into the hud.
A: You will need to set up a loader for them. Currently, we only offer support for Paragon couples dances by creating pre-loaded dance loaders for our couples dance sets. If you wish to use any 3rd party couples dances, you will need to set up a loader for them using the personal loader included.
Rez the personal loader hud on the ground, drag & drop animation pairs into contents, and follow the instructions on how to write the notecard.
Important Note:
- Make sure the name of the animation file is exact.
- No copy/transfer only dances will not work
- Each couples dance pair needs its own notecard.
This is a known issue. Currently due to SL hover limitations, the HUD is not "tall avatar friendly." To make this hud compatible to other dances, we use a hover offset. Due to SL limitations maximum hover is -2.00 so if your avatar is taller than 2.5m + there will be some floating. The Good News: Linden Labs has accepted our JIRA and a future fix to increase hover range will be implemented through the SL viewer and then firestorm.
This hud works really well, especially when we would go to a place that didn't have a dance system. We could use our own dance hud! It wasn't too hard to get set up, and figure out how to add my own dances. I just wish more dance creator's dances would work. (hint, hint to other creators...lol) A & M Mocap worked the best for us.
I've been waiting years for a couples dance HUD I can use that didn't require rez permissions. This HUD is simple to use, easy to load, and makes my partner and me look like pros on the floor. Dance packs are available at the Paragon store. I look forward to new dances I can add. (hint ... swing would be perfect)
