Hi folks,
Due to the current situation in Venezuela I've decided to notify the existence of a new feature in development branch of Turpial that will allow people to verify images posted in Twitter against Google Search. This feature is part of the preview window in Turpial and can be used just right clicking any previewed image [1].
Additionally, it includes options to show the most relevant info of the EXIF header (when present), copy the image URL and open image in web browser.
This changes will require at least libturpial 1.7.0-b2 [2] and the exifread [3] in order to work. libturpial and exifread can be installed via pip:
pip install libturpial
pip install exifread
If you are using development branch of Turpial and libturpial, just update your git repos and restart Turpial to get the changes. You can follow the instructions on the wiki [4] to install development version from scratch.
Please, report any weird behavior of the application while using this feature and report if you can see the EXIF data of any image because so far I couldn't.
Cheers
P.D.: exifread dependency will be added as official part of libturpial requirements after checking that it actually work with Twitter images.
