Hello all!

I have great news! The new band I've been playing with the last few months finally has a name, and our first official gig!! Folkal is here, and we're excited to be able to play at 'On The Rocks', a great place on Frantz Rd in Dublin. This will be the first time playing there for all of us so we're pumped of course.

'On The Rocks' is actually a big stop on the Columbus band circuit, they cater to some of the most popular bands here in C-bus, so...we're starting to get the word out early so we can make a great first impression. The more people we can bring to the show, the greater the chance of us getting invited back to play again.....not that I'm begging or anything. ;)

We have a great group of musicians and each brings a unique dynamic. Folkal consists of:

Ben Scott - Guitar, Mandolin, Piano, Vocals, Rehearsal space
Jonathan Barth - Guitar, Piano, Vocals, Sigg water bottles, Various camping gear
John Coleman - Bass, Thump & Funk
Matt Johnson - Banjo, General coolness
Jason Turpening - Guitar, Mandolin, Piano, Vocals, Pics of my son
Mecca Dubena - Vocals, Percussion, Chick vibe, Good looks, Soul

Don't worry, I'll be sending out many more of these as we get closer to gig night. So, mark it down on your calendar, in your blackberry, on the wall, on your hand; call grandma and get a sitter (unless she's coming!), get cab money (and beer money of course), and plan for a great night of music!
