Ahard freeze is equivalent to dev complete. All development for a release in hard freeze stops so release candidates can be built and tested for stability. Any P2 or lower bugs will need to wait until the following release to be fixed. Any P1 bugs found in the hard freeze release will need a post-code freeze ticket opened and approved before a fix can be added to the hard freeze release branch

I've never trusted the expiration dates on food. I've had too many situations where something was slimy, smelly, moldy, or otherwise revolting a couple days before it expired. And we have histamine issues so I tend to keep things frozen, do a quick thaw on granite countertop (roasts and steaks take generally less than an hour), cook, and then freeze again unless I'm planning on eating within 48 hours. At the 3 day mark we throw cooked things out. But I used to work in nursing and DH's first college job was food service, and those are the guidelines in both of those industries. My mom used to keep leftovers 5-7 days and none of us ever had to go to the doctor with food poisoning, but I'm personally unlikely to keep things beyond 3 days.

I don't like fresh berries to freeze, even for smoothies, it changes the texture. We snack on raw berries or have them for dessert and I use frozen for smoothies. I even freeze my smoothie greens (without blanching first, so they're still raw), but that goes in an actual freezer, not that drawer. That started with grocery pickup because there were too many times I brought greens home that expired the same day. I think, like in the garden, they get sweeter when frozen so I'm unlikely to go back.

There is no need to defrost partially frozen food taken from the Prime Fresh Case. Since it never hardens, it remains easy to cut and cook immediately. Meats are particularly easy to slice, which enthusiastic chefs will love as you can thin-slice the meat for stir-fries or delicate dishes.

Thanks to soft freezing, the freshness of foods lasts longer in the Prime Fresh Case than in the fridge compartment. Moreover, since soft freezing preserves the cell structure of foods, it can keep food in a near-raw state, maintaining its delicious flavour and texture.

Soft freezing food inhibits bacterial growth, which works to minimise odours. The Prime Fresh case is ideal for storing seafood and other strong-smelling foods, as it helps to prevent intense odours from spreading to other foods in the refrigerator.

Usually when freezing a plan, the amendment simply replace the plan accrual formula with 0.0%. Any special language for an amendment that continue accruals for existing participants but close the plan to new participants?

Soft frozen plans have to pass compliance testing. People who are not excludable in accordance with the law and regulations (i.e., non-resident aliens with no US income, people covered by collective bargaining agreements, etc.) have to be factored into the compliance testing whether they can participate in this or any other plan of the sponsor's controlled group. Hard frozen plans get a pass on coverage and generally also non-discrimination because no HCEs are benefitting, but that is not necessarily true in a soft freeze.

Important distinction: Testing is based on regulatory definitions of excludable and not (in general) on who the plan(s) in question will allow to participate and those who cannot. Sometimes I wonder if that distinction is understood. Excludable in the testing context does not equate to excluded from this plan.

I think that the comment meant was that for purposes of participation and other compliance testing, the people who would otherwise have become participants (but for the soft freeze) are treated for the various non-discrimination tests like any other group excluded from the plan who don't fall into the group excludable for testing purposes (such as non-resident aliens with no US income or people covered by bargaining agreements, etc.).

One of the machines that we could not live without is the refrigerator. Refrigerators have come a long way since they were first built for home-use in 1913. Technology is smarter than ever before; made to make our lives easier and our food last longer.

You might think you know all that a refrigerator can do, but there are plenty of smart technologies that you may never have heard of. Here are five new technologies you should keep an eye out for to keep your food fresher for longer.

We all know that fruit and vegetables love sunlight, so what if you could recreate sunlight inside a fridge to extend the life of produce? It turns out that amber LED lighting, which recreates sunlight, can slow down the wilting process and maintain the original vitamin levels of produce for longer.

This lightbulb moment was the catalyst for engineers at Mitsubishi Electric to develop and design a range of multi drawer fridges that have a dedicated humidity drawer with a low energy amber LED light that stays on inside, even when the drawer is shut.

However, food left to cool on the counter can quickly reach the danger zone (between 4 and 60C) where harmful foodborne bacteria can grow. To minimise the amount of time food spends in the danger zone, some multi drawer refrigerators now enable hot food to be placed straight into a dedicated freezer drawer directly from the stove.

Traditional fridges use fixed-speed compressors (the compressor can be either on or off, with no in between). A fixed-speed compressor causes high temperature fluctuations within the refrigerator and consumes more energy when it turns on to take the fridge temperature back to a suitable level.

Look for fridges with an inverter compressor to ensure your food stays fresh and your power bills stay low. Inverter compressors ensure food stays fresher for longer with a more consistent temperature. No matter how many times you open and close your fridge, your food will not be affected by temperature fluctuations.

In previous years, code freezes during the holiday season were standard practice for many ecommerce teams. However, with more widespread adoption of Agile methodologies and evolving QA processes, some organizations now see code freezes as antiquated and unnecessary.

Hard freeze: This is the most extreme type of code freeze. In a hard freeze, the freeze is implemented at the deployment level, and developers temporarily do not have access to deploying code.

Soft freeze: In a soft freeze, developers agree not to make any changes to code, allowing for exceptions that a hard freeze doesn't. For instance, a product manager might say that a particular feature can still be worked on, but the rest of the site or app is off-limits.

When your site is likely receiving more visitors than ever, the last thing you want to do is accidentally add a new bug into the mix. Even though Agile practices and automated QA processes go a long way toward catching bugs while code is still in production, there's no way to ensure that a piece of code is perfect before it's been deployed.

For example, you can still run A/B tests during a code freeze. And since your traffic is higher than average, you'll get answers to your experiments in less time than you normally would. Then, you'll have a set of new digital experience improvement projects in the pipeline when your code thaws after the holiday rush.

However, every reputable reference I've found claims that you should freeze meats below 0 F. What would the effect be of storing meat at 23 F rather than at 0 F other than presumably shorter storage time?
