Hey guys
this is a burl-the grain doesn't have a whole lot to do with it
because it's running every which way. cut it so you get the maximum
wood for the shape of the burl- or cut it if you have a particular
shape in mind. If it's a good burl you'll run into end grain side
grain and swirl grain--go for it!

YUP excellent point.
Even though great burls "don't have a grain" I have found on some
lesser figures you can detect a better cutting direction.
