Friends and Colleagues,
Here are two more links about the Turkish Earthquakes..
I think one of our most important jobs as Earth Scientists is to make public aware of Natural Hazards. So, I hope my little sounds bites in local TV stations can help the Alabama community to be aware of the impacts of Earthquake hazards, although Alabama is a safe place in terms of Earthquake hazards.

Subject: Compressional Tectonics Volume
Dean Ray,
Our Volume 1 of the “Tectonic Processes: A Global View”, is now in print. Attached is a picture of the cover and its table of contents. I have been involved in 5 papers in the volume titled “Compressional Tectonics: Plate Convergence to Mountain Building.” It took us a long time, but we finished it. Volume 2, “Extensional Tectonics: Continental Breakup to Formation of Oceanic Basins.” will be ready for print in fall 2023.
The information about the book can be reached in the URL below:
I also attached a picture of the cover and its content.
I will stop by tomorrow around 2:00 p.m. in Clark and give a copy of the book to Leslie to put on the display. Would this be okay. We could also chat about the book when you have time.
Best regards,
I. Çemen
