Has someone of you used FF2 together with kbmMW, Kim Madsen's Middleware?
If yes, any comments, pro and cons?
I'm not sure what route to go in an upcoming project: Either an application
server (built in FF server) with clients connecting directly to the FF
server. Or using Kim's middleware components to connect the clients to the
application server.

My clients will mainly display data from a dozen different, small tables.
There are a lot of changes in these tables (up to 5 each second, usually
less) that have to be propagated to all clients. Do I have benefits from
using kbmMW (or any other middleware software)?

As you might see from all my comments above I have not used a decent
middleware software so far. Just want to jump into the cold water. This new
project is not that big and complex so I thought it would be a starting
point to gather some new knowlegde. But is it worth it?

Any comments welcome.

Hi,

Ill stay out of the experience comments and leave those for others.
Instead Ill comment on the question in general terms.

In general terms, a relatively small project is always the best place to
start when getting into new technology. This way you can gain experience
without riscing to loose oversight over the complete project and then
perhaps ending up in a complete mess :)

More specifically, kbmMW will give you a nice centralized structure for your
business logic and clean easy to use clients. This more precisely means that
it will be much easier to create different client types without having to
duplicate business logic with all the problems that can lead to (multiple
places to fix bugs, forgetting during duplicating code etc).
Further it gives you much easier access over the internet regardless of
firewalls etc.

This are some of the benefits of combining kbmMW with FlashFiler.

best regards
Kim Madsen
