i have just submitted a patch to allow quickstarting a project with elixir orm for sqlalchemy.

The first thing is that Elixir is older than Declarative, and they
both provide "declarative" type syntax on top of SQLAlchemy. Depending
on who you asks one is better than the other. Elixir has many more
features but that means an additional dependency. I think the best for
you is to try both.
