Sorry for the spelling mistake - I meant genshi

Hopefully not before it is ready! The 1.0 branch is only just beginning to get
a bit polished around the edges and I would hate to see people move their
efforts to the next shiny thing before sufficient experience has been gathered
with how TG fares on a larger user base.

Just my 2 (Euro-) cents.

there has been some discussion about this on the dev list.

widgets? you mean genshi enable widgets rigth?

As for date shouldn't it be better to release 1.0 before thinking of
the next release?

I think we need to first let 1.0 get out and then let Kevin, et al take a much deserved breather!  Given how long it's been taking between beta releases I'd say that the soonest we can really be taking about v1.1 would be mid next year...assuming that the main developers get more time after the new year...

That said, I think there is support for Genshi today.  It's just not as "built in" as Kid.  Check the mail list archives and Wiki, I know I've seen info about using alternate template systems.  I'm planning on using Genshi for my next project, v1.1 or not...Kid make the nearly unpardonable error of not having a blasted "else" clause!  Simple is nice, but there's a limit!

Thanks all. Then I would start using genshi right away.

Just a warning. Genshi is *great* but the built in widgets aren't
100% compatible with Genshi. There are, however, ToscaWidgets[1]
which can be used with TG and will work with Genshi templates. You'll
be one of the first developers out of the gate to use them though, so
there *may* be some teething problems.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the useful inputs. I installed genshi and saw that my
application working nicely. Till now I am using only some simple
widgets like TableForm. If I fall into trouble using some other widget,
would think about ToscaWidgets.

thanks
