currently we are deploying on our cherokee server with reverse proxy to paste serve.where cherokee handles the static assets and routing the calls for various apps with reverse proxy to a specific virtualenv with specific turbogears application with paste serve (each with specific port). if we need more muscle with simply add more paste serve information sources with different (inner) ports and cherokee handles the load balancing
for older apps (with tg1 ) we do the same just with cherrypy instead of paster serve
I guess this isn't best practice. if not: what should we use? gunicorn? uwsgi? something else? thanks for the help

I really recommend to use either gunicorn or uwsgi instead of the
build in paste server, both are 2 to 3 times faster than an equivalent
paster instance and can run on a give port as http servers to be
proxied by cherokee.
