I'm happy to announce the release of TG 2.0b5. This is largely a
bugfix release, and we're rapidly approaching the first 2.0 release
candidate. We closed twentyfive ticets, in b5, and nearly all the
open tickets that are left are to add documentation and additional
tests for various TG components. To see the issues closed in b5 take
a look at trac:

http://trac.turbogears.org/query?status=closed&milestone=2.0b5

The beta 5 release includes all the major features that are required
for 2.0, and I expect that next week's beta 6 release will also be a
bugfix release. There may be a couple small changes to the
authorization checks to improve parts of their API, and there may also
be a couple of other small changes, but after this weekend, any new
features that go in to TG2 will require special approval from the
informal release team.

To download the b5 release take a look at the directions in the docs:

http://turbogears.org/2.0/docs/main/DownloadInstall.html

To upgrade, you can just do:

easy_install -U -i
http://www.turbogears.org/2.0/downloads/current/index tg.devtools

in whatever environment you previously installed tg2.

If you have any problems, report them to the list, but as always you
may want to try manually easy_install -U ing any dependency that fails
to automatically install.

We're also starting to define the TG 2.1 milestone, and I'll write
more about that in a couple of weeks, but for those who are interested
feel free to take a look at the track milestone:
