Hi All

I have 2 potential addons for TC. I e-mailed Philip on this and he
mentioned that the best place to discuss this would be in the Forum, so
here we are. I have posted to the devlopers forum first because the
products are not yet user friendly. I am keen to get some feed back and
interest levels etc.

Product 1 - TurboCRM

This is a very buggy CRM type application. It was initially designed
around the management of customers from a web site. I am toying with
the idea of making this open source for two reasons, 1 - it contains a
large portion of open source stuff and 2 - I will (realistically) never
finish this product on my own.

There is some overlap with TC functionality but the accounting
functions are really lacking. TurboCASH is far better in each place
where the products overlap.

My question to you is How can I attempt to recover some of the cost of
this product by making it open source? I took a few months off work to
develop this and never finished - It cost me plenty!!

Some of the features of the program are mentioned in the readme file
but it is quite a big application and much of the power of the
application is in the design and the "not-so-easy" setup. For example,
you can monitor a mail box. If a mail comes in from your web site, from
a specific enquiry type or campaign etc, then the mail can be routed to
a specific person, group etc. The details from the mail can be
extracted and your prospects populated. Once the prospect is added, a
return mail can be generated and a user notified. A followup email can
be scheduled to be sent out if no further correspondence is received
from the prospect after a fixed period or the status can be changed and
the second e-mail cancelled if a return is received - You get the
picture! This kind of functionality is up to the imagination and can
not be typed into a read me text file.

CFlow (or TurboCRM) still requires a bit of work, but is largely
functional enough to look at. The nature of the product does not make
it easy to sell but does open up possibilities for configuration income
to be earned for partners etc. Every installation would be different
and anything beyond the norm would require an "expert".

Download the zip file from
www.import-al.com/download/cflow.zip
Readme file (included in the zip)
www.import-al.com/download/Readme and Install.txt

Should there be problems running this application I will try something
different in the setup.

btw when you try to execute an action in the IDE you will be promted
for input parameters even when there are none and may even prompt for
the parameters from the last action that you ran. Its quite annoying
but... next release! Have a look at the action called "simple test" to
see how they work. I don't think any other parameters are required so
you can just say OK each time -- The submit button does not work.

Product 2 - TurboMRP

Another big product. Owned 50% by myself and will not be open source.
This will require some sort of server licensing fee, but this is not
yet determined. It is a stand alone server with rpc and xml-rpc
interface based on server type optimisation code. Large memory
footprint using memory tables for fast processing many records. Very
stable and very secure. Written in Delphi 5 and using Firebird
database. Definitely aimed a larger installations using many product
codes. I am in the process of rewriting the forecast module for smaller
implementation.

Takes sales data from multiple selling points/branches on a periodic
basis (or populate from within TC from delivery note) and processes
data. Generates daily demand errors (ie greater than expected demand,
automatic outlier detection).

Stock item classification into ABC, degree of variation of sales and
regularity of movement. Generates forecast for the next period based on
history using moving average and exponential forecast and incorporates
seasonal influences.

Replenishment is generated and considers pack sizes, lead times and
delivery calendars. Calculates planned minimum and maximum on hand
stock for each stock item at each branch/warehouse. Replenishment
output is used to create purchase order proposals for each day using
JIT principles based on forecast sales.

Goods received can be deployed according to the optimal deployment plan
considering outstanding customer orders and then deploying the rest to
the branches in an attempt to balance the stock at the branches.

A really neat product but will require some integration before it will
work with TC as the chosen interface is remote procedure call.

Sorry! No downloads here. I am just interested to get feed back on
whether this BIG server has a future in a primarily SME focussed
product like TC.

Thanks for any feedback, feelings comments you may have on these
products

Regards

Apologies to anybody that tried to download. Who'da thought that they
would make a case sensitive operating system.

The real links are

I hope this helps. If not, just point your browser to
