TranscriptUse subtitles to create an transcript below the video or an document with the full text to download. (See ted talk for reference). The transcription should be below the video in a collapsible element, so we can see comments. Or alternative design, we display transcription side to side with the video. The text follow the video.

Editing/adding subtitles

Since subtitle are collaborative, I think it should work as mediawiki. A page with revisions and various element to create a group of trusted users to avoid vandalism issues.(And an IP blacklist across all peertube instance ?)

Automated close captions

Integrate a speech to text based on language (AVA ? Mozilla deepspeech ? ). We can have the option to register the subtitle so we can edit them later and improve the result.

When i heard of it, my first ideas was to create a plugin to match sign video and original video, and playback the two side by side. The basic idea: you upload the signed version, and add a link to the original video in a special field. The original video could be on another instance.

Then, when you play the video, the 2 will be side by side and synchronized.

If you have the document ready, i can help you translating into french sign language. Some of my friend can do that in international sign language, so we may reach deaf dev. The only problem may be the communication.

I can tell you subtitles and captions are supposedly available for Apple TV content, but there is no way to turn them on or off in the app. You can setup the size and format, but when playing content if you go to Options/Accessibility there is no way to activate the subtitles. This is an Apple problem, but so far Apple support has not been helpful. Hopefully in a short while Apple will get an update out for this app to address this problem.

I am currently trying to play a video file on VLC Media Player. The video file is from an episode of a TV show, and it doesn't come with subtitles. When I play the video on VLC Media Player by simply opening File Explorer and clicking on the file in the front page Quick Access menu, the video plays with no error whatsoever. However, I am trying to add a subtitle .srt file to the video. When I try adding the subtitle file to the video, the entire thing stops working, even if I disable the subtitle again.If I delete my subtitle file, the video plays properly, but I want to keep the subtitles.For my issue, I get this result:VLC Media Player not playing video.Thank you in advance!

I was facing the same issue, actually the thing is that the video you are playing is in (ts or mp4 MPEG) codec u can also check this from (tools-media information-codec) in VLC,i searched everywhere but currently there is no solution for this as the VLC doesn't support any format of subtitles with MPEG videos. so u just have to download POT player it will work 100% .this is only solution i know.Hope it helps

Yes, all Met Opera on Demand customers will need to have an active account, with a username and password to login to the Met website. If you currently have a subscriber account on metopera.org, you will be able to access Met Opera on Demand through that same account.
