For anyone who needs to view and interrogate 3D design data. Whether you are involved in commercial manufacture, purchasing, a maker or a student, eDrawings Viewer helps you to communicate, share and collaborate with high fidelity 3D data with an easily shareable lightweight file in its own viewer.
Prior to eDrawings 2019, if the recipient of your eDrawings file did not have the software on their computer, you needed to either attach the link to download the free viewer or package the viewer executable with your eDrawings files as a zip file.
Our company was looking for a universal 3D viewer that worked for Pro/E and SolidWorks. Unfortunately, nothing works well for both. Edrawings (SolidWorks product)does open Pro/E part and assembly files, but not drawings. Creo Viewer does not open any SolidWorks files to my knowledge.

eDrawings is a free SOLIDWORKS file viewer. Software can be downloaded from the eDrawingsViewer web-site. This application not only allows to view, markup, measure and print SOLIDWORKS, DXF and DWG files without having SOLIDWORKS installed, but also provides API for a programmatic access to its features.
One of the cool eDrawings features is an ability to add markups to the files. This includes stamps, comments, lines, arcs, clouds etc. It is also possible to perform measurements directly in the eDrawings viewer. Markup API is available in IEModelMarkupControl interface.
eDrawings Viewer supports AutoCAD .DWG and .DXF files, along with SolidWorks files. After opening your file, you can open individual views and arrange them however you want, regardless of how the views were previously arranged in the original drawing. The viewer provides dynamic viewing capabilities of 3D models as you automatically rotate through each drawing view. The program is also able to compare the same location of a model in different views by identifying and matching geometry in various drawing views.
The eDrawings viewer allows you to rotate and zoom in to any particular feature of the model and investigate it further. The measure feature allows you to accurately measureany component within the model to aid in its construction. Assemblies can be further dissected by opening their constituent parts in a separate viewing window. Annotations canbe noted on the drawing and then saved and printed for further reference in the field.
View the most popular native 3D (SOLIDWORKS) and 2D (DWG / DFX) formats in a single viewer. Interrogate the models using the measure tool as well as move and section commands to view model internals. Once opened, files can be saved as eDrawings files for lightweight sharing.

Down load the software from this web site, , and get the Edrawings viewer for Solid Works. Save the file attachment that we send to you, and then open the E-Drawings software and the drawing file that we sent with the E-Drawings software.
