Where do I find the Console log.. in the Application Support > Tunnelblick > logs (There is no files)

I have deleted a post by HayWow that included private information. An edited version of the post appears below.

It looks like the problem is garbage characters at the start of the configuration file -- the "" characters should not be there.

However, there seem to be other problems:

(1) You are posting a log from Tunnelblick 3.3beta54, but 3.3beta54 would have automatically removed the private information from the diagnostic info, so the info you posted could not have come from 3.3beta54 directly. Weird.

(2) When you say you were "unable to open the VPN Details with tunnelblick 3.3", what do you mean? Does the icon appear but when you click it it does not drop down a menu? Or that it drops down a menu but there is not "VPN Details…" entry, or that clicking on the "VPN Details…" entry doesn't do anything? Or something else?

The combination of these two other problems means that there is something very wrong. I suggest that you make sure that Tunnelblick is not running, and try to re-install 3.3.0 and use that.

Sorry about the private info I didn't realise...

"" characters was something that got added when I copy and pasted the log i believe.

I have un-installed the beta and re-installed 3.3 when I try to install the configuration files I get:

Tunnelblick VPN Configuration installation error
There was a problem with one or more configurations. Details are in the Console Log.

The Tunnelblick icon appears in the status bar at the top and when I click on it I get the menu.. BUT when I click on VPN Details NOTHING happens

Ah. You have found a bug; thanks. Clicking "VPN Details…" messes up if there are no configurations to be detailed. I'll should be able to fix that for the next release.

The reason you have no configurations is that it couldn't install your configuration, because of the "" characters in the configuration file.

So, remove those characters, first. Then create a new .tblk on your Desktop -- DO NOT create it in /Users/Hayley/Library/Application Support/Tunnelblick/Configurations/. Follow the instructions at Creating and Installing a Tunnelblick VPN Configuration.

Them characters don't appear in the configuration file, I have followed the link you sent - but i'm still getting the same message. Is there anyway I can send you my configuration file for checking that its correct?

This problem was solved in a private email exchange.

The problem was that there were garbage characters at the start of the configuration file. For some reason, they do not show up when editing the file in TextEdit, so it looked like they weren't there, but they were. To remove them, I copied the rest of the file (after the initial ";"), deleted the entire contents of the file, did a paste, then added back the initial ";" that I had not copied.

So: there were garbage characters that prevented the configuration from being installed, but the garbage characters did not show up in TextEdit, so it looked like the garbage characters were not there!

And Hayley found a bug when there are no configurations and the "VPN Details…" menu command is clicked.
