Hey!

I am on Sonoma 14.4.1 and need to change settings in the ’VPN Details’.

Unfortunately, as soon as I hit the ’VPN Details’, Tunnelblick becomes unresponsive
and I have to force quit in the Activity Monitor.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best
Linus

Here are three things you can try:
  1. Shut down your computer and restart it. See Shut down or restart your Mac.
  2. Install Tunnelblick again: Download version 4.0.1 from the Tunnelblick Downloads page and double-click to install it, replacing whatever version you currently have (even if it is 4.0.1). Your configurations and settings will be preserved.
  3. Reinstall macOS. See How to reinstall macOS. (According to Apple, "Reinstalling macOS doesn't remove your apps or personal data".)

Thanks for your message.
Unfortunately, that didn't help...

I think the problem is not macOS related.

Are any VPNs connected when you click "VPN Details"? If so, disconnect before trying to get to "VPN Details".

No VPNs are connected.

Thank you.

Please tell me about your computer: what model, what security software you have, etc. Is this a new installation of Tunnelblick, or did you have it working before?

It's a Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014 with macOS 14.4.1. The built-in firewall is active.
Other VPNs work flawlessly. It's a new installation. Had it working years ago on a different Mac.

Thanky you!

I gather you're using UCLP to run Sonoma on an unsupported Mac. OLCP apparently has a bug, see my comment in  When using OCLP, Tunnelblick freezes when showing VPN details for the first time after launch).

Indeed, that’s correct!
I reckon, you found the issue. Thank you!!!

Apparently, all I have to do is to be patient until ‚VPN Details‘ show up?

Well, apparently it can be a very long time until it shows up, and there's no guaranty that the rest of Tunnelblick will work either.
