The log fragment you posted seems to be incomplete -- that may because of the way that ipvanish sets up to log to a file.

You need to contact ipvanish -- your VPN service provider. That is the organization to which you are paying a fee for VPN service. For more information, please see  Getting VPN Service.

Tunnelblick is just the free software that many VPN service providers recommend or supply to their customers. We do not provide VPN service, just software.

If they can't or won't help, try removing the last two lines of the configuration file:
status /tmp/ipvanish-status.log
log /tmp/ipvanish.log
and posting the log of a connection attempt using that.

So I'm running TB Version  Tunnelblick 3.3beta21a (build 3114.1) Unsigned and trying to connect to any of the server locations but always getting stuck at making TCP Connection. I have changed the DNS servers around and that didn't help. I updated TB to this version for 10.8.2 and followed the troubleshooting guideline but still nothing.

Does anyone has any ideas of what it could be please? Was I supposed to use beta24 instead?

Sorry, I forgot to answer your specific question about 3.3beta24.

No, Tunnelblick 3.3beta21a is the best one for your situation (you have an OpenVPN configuration file, not a Tunnelblick VPN Configuration). 3.3beta24 would not help.
