Can't type Username or Password

When i click connect and the prompt pops up to type in username and password. Everything i enter in the username or password field keeps getting deleted. I can't type anything in there to connect just keeps getting removed.

What "prompt" is appearing? Please post a screenshot of the dialog window or the full text in the window.

When exactly do the username/password disappear? As you are typing them in, or when you click the button?

If the dialog box shakes when you click the button, the username and password are not correct, the username is empty, or the username and/or password are too long.

Make sure you are entering the correct username and password. There are two different sets of usernames and passwords:
  • Some dialogs ask for your computer login username and password or the computer login username and password of a computer administrator if you are not logged in as one. (These usernames and passwords are actually asked for by macOS, not Tunnelblick; Tunnelblick does not have access to them. See Administrator Authorization to Install Tunnelblick and Configurations for details.)
  • Other dialogs ask for the username and password of the VPN. These dialogs are asked for by Tunnelblick; Tunnelblick gets the username and password and sends them to the VPN server for authentication.
