Characters that are not allowed: '#&;:~|?'"~<>^[]{}$%*'

I seem to be getting this error 

There was a problem:

Path '/Users/rickycain/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/Downloads/rickysdevices.ovpn' contains characters that are not allowed.

Characters that are not allowed: '#&;:~|?'"~<>^[]{}$%*'

Anyone have any ideas? I open in textedit and everything is fine

The problem is the "~" characters in the path to the"rickydevices.ovpn" you are trying to install. For security reasons, "~" characters are not allowed anywhere in the path to a file being installed.

You can:

1. Drag/drop rickydevices.ovpn to your Desktop to make a copy of the file. The path will then not contain the "~" character.
   
   
2. Drag/drop the copy on the Desktop to the Tunnelblick icon to install it.
