Dear Tunnelblick users/developers,
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Mac in ipv4 only local network
2. Connect to VPN-Server which provides dual stack tunnel
and an ipv6 route to
ipv6.google.com
3.
ipv6.google.com can be reached with ping6 but
not with Safari, FF, Chrome.
I found this thread
https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/304215/how-to-add-aaaa-flag-ipv6-to-dns-resolver-configuration-on-sierra
but the presented solution does not seem to work on the recent
Mac M1 with MacOS 13.4.
I tried Viscosity as an alternative client, it comes
with the option "Full DNS (Use VPN DNS for all traffic)"
which results in the "Request AAAA records" flag being added to
the MacOS DNS configuration when the VPN is activated.
Consequently AAAA records are being resolved by all
apps and ipv6 only resources are reachable with Safari,
FF, Chrome, etc.
I think Tunnelblick should add the "Request AAAA records"
flag to the resolver if it detects an ipv6 capable tunnel.
Many thanks,
Raoul
