This is the first I've seen of this problem.
The -36 error "is perhaps one of the most generic in OS X, and in Apple's
errors directory it writes that this means 'I/O error (bummers)'"[1]. The -8058 error may mean "unable to eject when trying to copy a disc in Finder" [2] So it appears that OS X is having some kind of problem reading or writing data, presumably from or to a server at the other end of the VPN.
Tunnelblick is a way to start OpenVPN, which does all the work of setting up and running the VPN. Tunnelblick does continue to run once OpenVPN is started, communicating back and forth with OpenVPN and perhaps responding to network configuration changes, but OpenVPN, not Tunnelblick, handles data going through the VPN.
So the problem is with OpenVPN, or OS X, or the hardware.
I'm afraid I don't really have any suggestions, other than to try the same configuration and Tunnelblick settings on another computer to see if it has the same problems.

I'm trying to figure out if Tunnelblick is causing issues with my ability to read/write to our company's development server. I've eliminated the FTP client as a suspect and the files I'm working with are not corrupt. However, the Mac finder keeps throwing up (-36) and (-8058) errors when I attempt to read/write to the server.
Tunnelblick seems to be making a solid VPN connection but, since I'm a designer and not a tech, I wouldn't know if there's an issue by looking at the log or my preference settings (attached). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Justin
