Hi,

Thank you for Tunnelblick.  It's wonderful that it's free and continually improving.

I see from other posts that the intended behavior of Tunnelblick is to disconnect the VPN connections whenever the laptop goes to sleep then to reconnect them on wake.  I didn't realize this about myself before but now that I use Tunnelblick I've learned that I am frequently putting down laptops and picking them up again.  The wifi connection is re-established immediately but the delay in reconnecting the VPN connections is slowing my workflow.

Would it be possible to leave the VPN connections connected, even while the laptop is asleep?

FWIW, I have full control over my server and clients.

Thanks for your consideration,
David

Tunnelblick doesn't have a way to do that.

I don't think there's enough demand to make implementing this a priority.

I demand it ;-) Please O:-)

Otherwise I have to force my laptop to stay awake for 8 hours, to avoid setting up all the connections again, when I walk away from my desk.

Click the Tunnelblick icon in the menu/status bar, then click "VPN Details".

The "VPN Details" window will appear. Select the connection(s) you want this to be effective for in the "VPN Details" window, then click the "Advanced" button. (To select more than one connection at a time, hold down the "Command" key while you click.)

The "Advanced" window will appear. In its the "Computer sleep/wake" box, remove the checkmarks from "Disconnect when computer goes to sleep" and "Reconnect when computer wakes up".

Close the "Advanced" window by clicking the little red circle in the top left corner of the window, then do the same for the "VPN Details" window.
