You may already be aware of this, but since the release of version 4 on 3/8, it has seriously disrupted our SSL VPN. What we are seeing is that Tunnelblick is attempting to reconnect over and over again. Since it can’t complete the connection, it disconnects (drops) and attempts to reconnect again. Even with only a few users, we see drops and reconnection attempts in the hundreds per hour. On 3/11 we had over 29,000 drops. This bulk drop and reconnect activity is causing the CPU on our Sophos server to peg out. When clients update to 4, they are immediately unable to access the server. When our clients contact us, we roll them back to the 3.8 version, and both issues disappear. We were able to confirm from our side a few SSL clients were hammering the UTM with auth requests (disconnects / reconnects). This was the root problem causing the CPU spikes we were seeing. I hope you can find the root issue and resolve this quickly.

There are two problems:
The connection attempt fails. For that, please seeTunnelblick 4.
The very fast repeated connection attempts. lease see this discussion.
Once you fix problem #1, problem #2 should become less urgent.
