We celebrated Cinco de Mayo at the top of the month, showed our moms some love on Mother's Day in the middle, and we're about to close out the month with Memorial Day. Aside from holidays, this May we also welcomed a new royal baby to the world, resurrected the Deflate Gate debate and bid farewell to Mad Men.

It's been a month, folks. However, before we can put May 2015 to bed completely, we've got some work to do in the form of streaming movies and TV shows on Netflix that will be going bye-bye starting June 1.

However, it especially hurts to see the list of titles leaving Netflix Instant Streaming in June. These include critically acclaimed classics (Silence of the Lambs, Taxi Driver, Rain Man), beloved chick flicks (Ever After: A Cinderella Story, Practical Magic, Steel Magnolias) and cult favorites (The Triplets of Belleville, Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away, Snatch). Truly, no genre is safe.

Chick flicks are a cinematic genre we've grown to appreciate more than ever over the past few years. In times of uncertainty, sometimes all you need is your best mates, wine and some snacks, a few face masks and a girly film, whether that be a '90s rom-com or a sad movie to sniffle those woes away to. But if you need a little guidance about what to watch first, we've rounded up the best chick flicks to watch.

Looking for a classic? Look no further than our forever-queen Hilary Duff living out a fairytale in A Cinderella Story. Another movie that is seared into our memories and always has us busting out our favourite moves together in the living room is Step Up. For something a bit more modern, Lili Reinhart is absolutely brilliant in the thought-provoking rom-com Look Both Ways.

If you want something a bit more heartwarming and coming-of-age, Saoirse Ronan doesn't disappoint as a teenager with lofty ambitions in Lady Bird. You also cannot go wrong with a bit of Jennifer Lopez in this year's Marry Me and Hustlers. Divine watching.
