For years I've passed by expensive services offering to convert your old VHStapes and 8 tracks to DVD. Thanks to this handy little device, there's no needfor outside help - you can do it entirely on your own and save yourself lots ofmoney.
I am very happy with the simplicity of the device and even more for thesimplicity of the interface. All I need to do is record video from an old tapeplayer and save it as a file - that's all.
This is exactly what I was looking for! You plug an old camcorder, vcr orother video player with RCA cables/S-video and you then plug the vidbox intoyour computer. Then, using the software, you capture the video as you play it onthe camcorder or video player. I have already converted 3-4 8mm tapes intodigital .mov files. I wish I had gotten this sooner!
I purchased the Video Conversion Suite to use for a video conversion project Iengaged in over the holidays. It worked flawlessly and the included softwaremade it simple to convert the video to DVD ready file. Good stuff!
My wedding video and several other family Vhs tapes were in need of transfer toDigital but it seems so expensive to convert them all. A friend told me aboutthis video conversion product. It's fantastic! I had it set up in no time justconnecting the vcr to the conversion box and then to my Mac. I had all the tapedconverted in a couple of days. Love this product!
Stopmotion Studio 4.0 is both fun and educational for students. Creatingstop-motion animation not only encourages the development of story-telling, italso provides an opportunity for kids to use the PC as a movie productions tool.
I have a Pavilion dv7-6157nr Windows 7, 64 bit machine. I installed an Honestech VidBox 3 video capture device and VHS to DVD software on the laptop. This VidBox was working on my Windows 7, 64 bit system but suddenly stopped working. I installed it on an older computer with Windows Vista 64 bit and it worked just fine. Since the VidBox worked on the Vista system I uninstalled the VHS to DVD software and VidBox driver from the Windows 7 system and ran cCleaner on my registry. I then reinstalled version 5.0.29 VHS to DVD software first, rebooted and then reinstalled the version 3.0.6 VidBox driver and rebooted. I then plugged the VidBox hardware in to be sure it was recognized. I then started the VHS to DVD software and made sure it was set to use the VidBox on composite NTSC_M and started the VHS tape playing. The VHS to DVD video screen was unresponsive and completely blank. While I got no error messages the traditional black window didn't even show up in the VHS to DVD software. I did, however, get audio.
I uninstalled/reinstalled all universal serial bus controllers and it, unfortunately, didn't work. I am really stumped on this one. This is the first time I have ever had a challenge with a hardware device that I couldn't eventually overcome and your input will be very much appreciated.
Thanks so much for the prompt response. I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers and software from Honestech and that didn't work. I also tried to do a system restore but it has been about 3 weeks since this all happened and I was unable to get system restore to find a restore point that far back. Other than the traditional "find another restore point" is there any trick to finding an older restore point?
At this time the only supported method for performing a system restore is the one listed in the article in my previous post. If the dates you want to restore back to are not available that means that the system did not create a restore on those dates and you can move foward and try the next step of the troubleshooting from my previous post. One thing I wanted to mention is that when I was doing research on this issue I did notice a lot of posts in different forums from other people who seem to be having this same issue. It is possible from reading through some of those posts that it is an issue with the vidbox itself for which you will need assistance from the makers of the vidbox.
The VIDBOX Driver is a software application created by Honestech that enables users to transfer video and audio recordings from older analog devices such as VHS tapes, camcorders, and cassette tapes into digital format that can be saved on a computer or external hard drive.
The VIDBOX Driver is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems and is designed to be user-friendly for those who may not have extensive technical knowledge. The software comes with clear instructions and an intuitive interface that guides users through the process of connecting their analog device to their computer, selecting the appropriate settings, and beginning the transfer process.
Users have the option to customize their transfer preferences, such as choosing between different formats and resolutions, adjusting color balance, and controlling audio level. Once the transfer is complete, users can edit, enhance, and share their digital files using various multimedia tools.
The VIDBOX Driver provides a convenient and efficient solution for preserving valuable home movies, family videos, and audio recordings that would otherwise deteriorate over time. It offers a simple way to transition from analog to digital technology, allowing users to enjoy their memories for years to come.
Product Key included with physical peripheral required for use of their software. (This upload provided because the driver and software re-download option on their website no longer offers versions compatible with Mac OS X versions prior to 10.9.)
