Blender Mirror redirection

Hi Administrators,

Thank you for helping the Blender project and its users by being an available download mirror (https://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/blender/).

We are making some changes to how we handle mirror monitoring and redirection with the goal of eliminating toil during Blender releases. We now have our self-hosted instance of Mirrorbits; a mirror redirection service created by the maintainers at VideoLAN/VLC.

Base URL: https://mirror.blender.org
Example file URL: https://mirror.blender.org/release/Blender1.0/blender1.0_files.zip
Example file mirror info: https://mirror.blender.org/release/Blender1.0/blender1.0_files.zip?mirrorlist

This implies a couple of things from the mirror side:
- We require a scanning method: either Rsync or FTP, but preferably Rsync.

No changes are needed on your side and we've verified it works correctly with our new setup.

We would like to ask the following:
- Is it okay to have added your instance to our official mirror redirection?
- Would you like to obtain a Rsync credentials to download.blender.org?

Thanks for contacting us. It is okay to add our mirror to your redirection network. You may scan the file list via rsync. It would be nice if we can directly mirror from download.blender.org.

You may contact us via mirrors at tuna dot tsinghua dot edu dot cn to further discuss about the credentials privately.
