I have a custom theme on one of my blogs. Been mucking around with it for months. Tried to make some minor changes to the HTML yesterday, updated the Preview, hit Save, nothing happens. When I close the Theme Editor and reload it the HTML is back to the original. Tried this multiple times, in multiple different ways, always the same result. The changes just don't stick.

Not sure if thats your case, but tumblr has a notable delay before applying changes. Just look for your changes some minutes later.

I am having the same issue. I have been using the same custom theme for about 2 years now and I have never had a single problem, and now it won't save. Have you had any luck, or figured anything else out? I have do have missing-e installed on Chrome, but I tried doing it on explorer and it didn't work either.

For how long have you had this issue?

And what exactly do you see? Is there a [save] button? When you click it, does it say [saving…]? Does the button eventually disappear after you click it?

The last time I had this problem, I had to contact Tumblr support and they were able to fix the problem...eventually.

It was some kind of internal error on their part, nothing to do with my browser etc.

Took them a day or two to get it fixed, and several emails.  The first response they'll send you back to you will be some generic nonsense that is not helpful. You have to be persistent, mail them back, send them screen shots, etc.
