Tumblr is a fully dynamic website. 

1. HTML- every website uses html.....

2.CSS- goes hand in hand with html therefore every websites uses this

 3. JavaScript- this is a behavioral programing language that manipulates html and css also called the DOM(Document Object Model), they use this as the interaction between the server and the user(you). 

4.PHP- is a programming language to get and send data to the website(Tumblr) they use this for all of the information on the tumblr website i.e. posts, info etc. 

5.MySQL- is  a data structuring programing to quickly locate and manage all that data from PHP.  

All these "code" languages are pretty standard on the web, Tumblr may use more languages and frameworks like JQuery but I am not sure.

I am sure that they rely heavily on the all the languages written above.
