You need to move the Phoenix Point folder somewhere else after installation. Then you can uninstall the Epic launcher without it removing the game. You will need to make a shortcut directly to the exe in the Phoenix Point folder.

I have football manager 2020. I want to delete the epic launcher and play this game but my epic folder contains no files or folders called Phoenix point, barring one png file. Can someone please help?

Hey, I have a problem with opening Warframe Launcher, I have it downloaded and installed via Epic Games, it worked fine until a couple minutes ago when I tried to enter the game, I open the Epic Games Launcher, and when I try to launch Warframe, I can see the "running" text under the game's name and thats it, also I can see "Warframe Launcher" in the task manager, but cant enter the game. Also I tried entering the game via the install folder but I got the same issue, any solution?

I HIGHLY recommend installing standalone from DE's site, if you wish to ignore tennogen, or install with steam if you don't mind tennogen. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Epic.

*EDIT: To add on this, all your progress is saved through your login no matter which PC launcher you use. So dump the Epic Games launcher and get one of the other two.

I unfortunately have the same issue. What's more interesting is Warframe doesn't even show it is installed in my computer programs. And uninstalling it and reinstalling it via EGS does nothing. Guess I'm stuck doing the same thing?

i was trying to update my macbook air and it said that epic games launcher wouldn't close. i went and tried to force quit it, and it still wouldn't quit. not sure what to do now! advice would be appreciated, thanks!

I also added allowed exceptions for "launcher.store.epicgames.com" and "egs-platform-service.store.epicgames.com" from the "Prevented content access" list on my sons dashboard in Bitdefender Central. There are no blocked websites which are easily associated with the actual Fortnite installation.

It's possible to log on to the Epic Games Launcher, but when trying to start Fortnite - login to the actual game fails and we get another login prompt. This fails as well and we get another login prompt. And so on.

I think the first step would be to verify the allowed applications. Should you reconsider reinstalling Bitdefender Parental Control, open Central and navigate to your child's profile. There, go to Parental Control settings and ensure that both "EpicGamesLauncher.exe" and "Fortnite.exe" are Allowed.

Furthermore, verify that no categories are blocked that could interfere with game login processes, such as Gaming or Social Networking. Also check for any time limits or restrictions that might be interfering with the game access times.
After making these changes, it's recommended to restart the PC to ensure all settings are applied correctly.

If the problem still occurs after these adjustments, consider contacting the Bitdefender Support Teams for detailed troubleshooting, as there might be a more specific interaction between the parental control software and the game that we are unaware of.

I recently installed Lutris --> Fortnite --> Epic Games --> and selected create shortcut to Applications Menu as opposed to Desktop for the Epic Games Launcher, Fornite worked briefly but the anti-cheat system would kick me out mid-game. Thus remove Fortnite via Lutris and Epic Games as a whole. But the Epic Games Launcher has since remained.

Go into terminal and type "su" and enter your root passwordNow you are root! Now type sudo nautilusThen go to the directory /usr/share applicationsNow, instead of doing the command you did just click the search bar and search "Epic" and you should find epic games! Delete the desktop file then restart Gnome Shell by either killing the process in system monitor or by restarting the PC!

In the applications menu I search for the Epic Games Launcher to isolate it.This brought up the path location of the icon for which I couldn't find before via the terminal using which/find/ & mlocate.

Its the same as everyone else has. Yes you own the packs now - but to use them you have to install them via manage packs in the EA launcher (if you move the mouse over one of the packs in your sims4 main menu you will see the note "not downloaded"

So I downloaded the free packs from Epic Games and I linked my account to EA and the account was right. So I went to the EA app to check my add ons but it wasn't there I opened The Sims 4 and it showed I owned it but I have to donload it to use. So I went back to EA again and searched the packs up but I need to purchase it? So how do I download my packs if I have already purchased it in Epic GAMES?

Mine shows up on the EA app as downloaded, but then when I got to play the game I can't use them, they keep telling me to wait even though they are already downloaded, and I restarted my game. I have two sims files on my programs and features, one is unable to be uninstalled and has a broken icon.

I linked both Epic games and EA account and downloaded the free pack in EA. In game, it says "restart to use" for those 3 packs. EA apps show "access through Epic". In Epic game launcher, it only has Sims 4 base game.

dotnet 4.6 ,4.8 for recent games 4.0 for all games on epic games store (but many games work with alternative mono, and better to try without these or you might be in trouble as wine says to get it from microsoft or aur but actually need from winetricks)

Downloading a 150GB+ game on my SSD, I've symlinked some already downloaded files from the original D:\ directory to C:\ to free up space for new files yet to be downloaded, although symlinking files works but Epic games launcher keeps downloading all the symlinked files again everytime I click pause and resume it later. Why does it does that and how to avoid this behavior?

Copy the existing game files to the directory where you started downloading it (default: C:\Program Files[game name])Note. For a previously installed game, be sure to delete the .egstore folder if it was created before copying the files to the new download folder.

I just recently bought this new laptop for my son. I was able to from the website for epic game launcher install the app. After it completed the install, it will not open. I dont know why this does not work. Can anyone help with what needs to be done?

The EPIC Games launcher is a really handy tool from anything to add content into your projects or to browse marketplace assets. It has this annoying habit of closing automatically when Unreal Engine or a game of your choice is running. This might be fine for gamers, but I find myself frequently re-opening it once the engine has launched.

The Epic Games Launcher isn't great at dealing with large game libraries. Images take a while to pop in, the library only loads when you scroll past a certain point, and it's difficult to spot which games are already installed and ready to play. It's even sluggish to respond to mouse movements sometimes. But it doesn't have to be this way, as the Heroic Games Launcher proves.

On Heroic, I can scroll through my games with no pop-in, images don't take forever to load, and when I click on them I can see all the info I need. On Steam Deck, that also includes important information as to the compatibility layer being used to translate the mostly built for Windows games to run on Linux. There's a lot more to it than that, too. You can import the game, check Wine versions prior to installing, limit FPS, enable V-Sync, and more.

The UI is also much improved. The search bar sticks at the top even if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of your library, your most recently played games are the first you see, and your installed games are easy to discern from uninstalled games by their colourful portraits (which was something Epic used to do but got rid of in an 'update').

I used to think Epic was slow because of its beautiful big game images, but Steam manages to make its library very scrollable with similarly big pictures, and in the video I captured below you can see Heroic make easy work of it, too.

And you're watching cold boots for both apps there. I'd previously logged into Epic and Heroic, but neither was running in the system tray or in the background at the time I opened the apps from the task bar. The difference in responsiveness is night and day.

I have been hit with a few bugs worth mentioning when using Heroic. It doesn't always load up game details even when I'm on Wi-Fi but most annoyingly it had a moment where none of my installed games would boot anymore, and I had to reinstall a bunch of them. Frustrating to say the least, and lucky my Steam Deck is mostly used as an indie game machine so all the installs are pretty small. That issue seems to be fixed for good now, as I've not run into it again since.

The answer is quite simple: install Heroic on your PC. That's plenty possible, there's a Windows version, and that's exactly what I've done. Moreover, I don't know why I need a third-party app to do what Epic's own should be doing already. What I really want is Epic to improve its launcher on PC. However much I appreciate Heroic launcher, and I do a lot, something's already gone wrong if I feel the need to use it.
