to Tulsa Ruby User Group
I wanted to announce several things in the future of Tulsa.rb.

1) Come January 2010 we will be rebooting the Tulsa.rb User Group and
having regular monthly meetings. I am currently looking at the 3rd
Tuesday of each month. The location will be the Tulsa Collab (5th and
Boulder, Downtown Tulsa) which is where the last meeting was held. I
will send out a notice once the monthly date is set.

2) In an effort to drop Google Groups and the amazing amount of SPAM
it lets evil people send the group discussion is moving to Facebook
here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=203619142821&ref=nf
please join the group and let your friends know about it.

3) Tim is stepping down from being group lead, but thankfully staying
with us as a member. I and all of us thank him for starting the group
and continually working with us and showing us the way of Ruby. We
couldn't gotten this far without Tim's dedication and time. I look
forward to him sharing his latest work with the group in the future.

4) I would like to also welcome Matt Swezey to the group. Matt is the
President of MDS Media Group and the founder of http://StreetMavens.com
(built on Rails). He is also a new member of the Tulsa Collab and
will be helping out at each meeting.

If you have any questions please send me a note at
ibs...@gmail.com.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the first meeting of 2010.
Brad

P.S. In addition to Tulsa.rb there are several other groups that will
have monthly meetings starting in 2010:
TulsaWebDevs (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?
gid=199713962534&ref=nf) focusing on JavaScript / CSS / Frontend and
the new TulsaMobileDevs (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?
gid=199733012534&ref=nf) focusing on Mobile App development on iPhone,
Android and WebOS. Please join those groups if you are interested.

Sounds great Brad! I also want to echo your words of thanks and
gratitude to Tim for starting this group from scratch, continually
sharing his Ruby skillz with us noobs, arranging meetings all over
Tulsa, and giving countless presentations. Thanks Tim!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm only sorry we didn't meet more. Tulsa.rb got only what was left of my time after my job, family, and church activities got their share. If only I had more time to give!

I think the group is in good hands now, and am glad someone is picking up the torch.

Cheers.
