Here is the letter from Will

 

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,        I am writing your office in Regards of A William Joseph Foster who is currently facing extradition from California to Oklahoma. I have contacted Oklahoma's Governor Henry requesting that Oklahoma not pursue the extradition of Mr. Foster. These numerous request have fallen upon the deaf ears of the Oklahoma Governor. Therefore I am asking you the refuse Oklahoma's extradition request for William Joseph Foster.        Mr. Foster's 93 year prison sentence for a 5'x5' foot medical marijuana garden for cultivation of marijuana in Jan. 1997 exemplifies the bigotry that exist here in Oklahoma. This 93 year prison sentence for a first time NON-Violent offender clearly exhibits that Oklahoma has no sense of Justice in this sentence. If Mr. Foster is return to Oklahoma he would never receive a fair hearing on the alleged parole violation which never receive a fair hearing on the alleged parole violation which end results would be a Miscarriage of justice since the same individuals who requested the warrant for extradition would be the same individuals who would impose Mr. Foster's punishment which would amount to and additional 15 years or more of incarceration.   There would be No Justice in this parole revocation hearing.        Mr. Foster was allowed to relocate to California upon his release from the from the Oklahoma prison system in April 2001. To now remove Mr. Foster from California More than 8 years later defeats all purposes of his rehabilitation. Mr. Foster is a 50 year old male whose only crime in Oklahoma was his choice of medicine for his crippling arthritis.        I am a resident of Oklahoma who is asking you to intervene in Mr. Foster's behalf. Please refuse Oklahoma's extradition request for it is in the best interest of justice. That would be awesome if you could help out with this!  I spoke with Anna Foster and the folks from Ed Rosenthal's office about getting some more information about the current status.  I will get in touch with them and see what else we can do!

No updates yet on Will's situation.  We'll be talking about his case tonight.  We will be getting people to send letters and make phone calls to Brad Henry to hopefully clear this up.  Also, I will send you some more stuff for August after this evening's meeting.
