Hi Tulane Cycling Club,

My name is Julie Swets; I’m a 3rd-year PhD student in the Psychology Department at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. I'm working with Andy Kreutzer, a Kinesiology PhD student and cyclist. We are working on a research project that will be part of our dissertation, looking at the personalities and performance of competitive cyclists. We are trying to see if we can predict exercise performance from real-world cycling data logged on Strava. We will also analyze the effect of personalities and certain training parameters on performance. Would you be willing to share information about the study and the attached flyer with your team members?

As a part of this study, we will request that participants a) download and send us an exercise history spreadsheet from Strava and b) complete some brief questionnaires (10-15 minutes). When participants complete the study, they'll be entered in 1 of 50 drawings to win a $15 gift card.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate, and you must live in the United States. This research has been approved by TCU’s Institutional Review Board (IRB# 1810-031-1810-AM11). All your responses will be kept confidential.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your time.

Julie
