Namaskaram everyone

August was a pretty exciting month for us Indians.
Events took place which reminded us of who we are and where we come from.

On August 12, we watched a form of Indian Classical dance, Odissi, which was presented as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Most of us havent seen any form of Indian classical dance, and it was a definitely a sight to behold.

15 August saw Indians worldwide celebrate Independence day, reminding us of the people who worked tirelessly to liberate Mother India.

Last week, we celebrated Onam with style; with fantastic song, dance, skits on stage, to celebrate the return of Mahabali (or Mahabelly lol, you know who are!)

After some random Internet surfing on Computicket, I saw that there are more Indian events scheduled for September :) Some of these are linked to the 1860 legacy foundation, commemorating the 150th anniversary of Indians in South Africa.

The events are as follows:

Like all things good, it comes at a price. But I believe its a small price to pay for the entertainment on offer; and to preserve/cherish the Indian culture.

I recommend you to watch atleast one of the programmes on offer :)
