Interested in the Nexus of Adaptation and Mitigation and based in DC?

 

USGCRP has an opening for a student assistant II to assist with the Inform Decisions program within the National Coordination Office. This intern would support me directly with coordination to the Adaptation Science Interagency Working Group (ASIWG) and the National Climate Assessment Network (NCAnet) Adaptation + Mitigation Nexus (AMNex) Affinity Group. 

 

Candidates must be enrolled in a college or university at the time of appointment. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the coordination of monthly Adaptation Science Working Group meetings, including drafting meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes/summaries
  • Assisting with the coordination of the Adaptation Science Co-chair meetings
  • Providing updates to the Adaptation Science Co-chairs and Inform Decisions Program Associate on progress made for Adaptation Science Workstream groups (evaluation, regional coordination, translation, resources library, Agency Adaptation Plan support, etc.).
  • Contributing to the production and deployment of the Adaptation component of the Global Change Information System (GCIS)
  • Assisting with the coordination of regular AMNex meetings, webinars, or conferences including drafting meeting agendas, recording meeting minutes/summaries, setting up the logistics, etc.
  • Supporting the development of 1-2 page summaries from the webinar sessions that will be used to complete a guidebook at the end of 2014.

Initial consideration will be given to applications received prior to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Thereafter, applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.
