Part-time Bookkeeper

Job Description

 

The Charles River Conservancy is a thirteen year-old organization with the mission of making the Charles River parklands more active, attractive and accessible for all.  The Conservancy seeks a bright, energetic, and well-organized Bookkeeper who can come in 4-5 hrs/week, or a total of 16-22 hrs/month.

 

Financial responsibilities include:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable using Quickbooks software
  • Prepare and coordinate yearly audit with auditing firm
  • Manage bank accounts and reconcile bank statements
  • Create financial reports as needed
  • Prepare financial data for funding proposals

 

General qualifications:

Solid bookkeeping skills are required. The ideal candidate for this position will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a mature interpersonal style, a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a sense of humor. The candidate must exercise excellent judgment and discretion with confidential or sensitive materials and be able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.

 

Qualifications include:

·       Bachelors degree or equivalent (possibly someone retired)

·       Having had comparable responsibility in bookkeeping, preferably at non-profits

·       Proficient in Quickbooks, MS Word, Excel

·       Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organizational skills critical

·       Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team

·       Interest in the Conservancy’s mission

 

Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with experience

 

Early applications encouraged – rolling admission until position is filled. Current bookkeeper will help with transition, but would like to reduce her hours starting in January. Position open immediately.
