Hey Fletcher Greenies, esp. 2nd years...

My friend works with (not for) the policy director for Voices for Progress and is happy to pass along interested candidates.  I don't know anything else about the org or position.  Let me know if you want to apply, and I'll put you in touch with my friend.

Thanks,

Elsa

Deputy Policy & Legislative Director, Voices for Progress

Voices for Progress’ Deputy Policy and Legislative Director leads the organization’s policy development, research, and legislative advocacy on climate change (~80% of time) as well as on several other issues.

Voices for Progress is a unique, national, grass-tops advocacy organization that mobilizes major political donors, philanthropists, and business leaders to advocate policies that serve the public interest. Its members’ direct access to elected officials is beginning to provide a new but growing counterweight to those who, after raising and giving money for candidates, use their access to advocate for their narrow financial self-interest.

Over the last three years, Voices for Progress has fought to combat climate change, for health care reform, to increase taxes on wealthy people like its own members, to abolish filibusters on nominations, for immigration reform, and to boost public investment in creating jobs and opportunity.

Applicants should have at least five years of combined climate policy and legislative advocacy experience, and strong writing, policy research, and oral communication skills.
