My friends that with whom I feed street people on Wednesdays asked me to share this information with you:

We all need to rest at summer, need change of scenery, new experiences. Based on this Friends of the Community of Sant'Egidio spend holidays with elderly people from nursing homes. Life in a nursing home has a schedule that does not change for months, years, many years of their lives. And our friends, elderly people need a vacation, holiday, changing their habitual conditions of life. This year, we realize our dream to take out some of our friends in nursing homes for holidays to sanatorium. Also we invited  our two elderly friends from the street, with whom we have a long friendship. Days in the sanatorium will be full of communication, walks, excursions, picnics.

Since we can not take all (300 people) we will also be spending two days with them in their homes for the elderly. This time will be full of socializing, which is especially important for our friends that are confined to bed, movies, picnics, musical gatherings ... ..
