During the series' first two seasons, Enterprise featured self-contained episodes, like The Original Series, The Next Generation and Voyager. The entire third season consisted of one arc related to the Xindi, and had a darker tone and serialized nature similar to that of Deep Space Nine. The fourth and final season consisted of several mini-arcs composed of two to three episodes. The final season showed the origins of some elements of previous series, and resolved some of their continuity problems. Ratings for Enterprise started strong but declined rapidly. Although critics received the fourth season well, both fans and the cast criticized the series finale, partly because of the episode's focus on the guest appearance of cast members of The Next Generation.[41][42][43] The cancellation of Enterprise ended an 18-year run of back-to-back new Star Trek television series, which began with The Next Generation in 1987.

The series centers on the voyages of the USS Discovery, a unique starship with an experimental "spore drive", commanded in Season 1 by Captain Gabriel Lorca (Jason Isaacs), in Season 2 by Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), and in Season 3 by Captain Saru (Doug Jones). The protagonist of the series is Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), a science specialist who becomes captain of Discovery at the end of the third season. The first season focuses on Discovery's involvement in a war between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire;[48][49] later seasons see the Discovery crew fighting a rogue artificial intelligence and, sent into the distant future, trying to reunite a fractured Federation.

Star Trek: Lower Decks was announced on October 25, 2018, by CBS All Access as a two-season order for a half-hour adult animated comedy series created by Mike McMahan, the head writer and executive producer of Rick and Morty. It focuses on the support crew of "one of Starfleet's least important ships", and its name is taken from a Next Generation episode that similarly focused on low-ranking starship crew members.[52][53] The first season premiered on August 6, 2020, and consists of 10 episodes.[54]

We've seen tantalizing clues of what to expect from "Star Trek: Picard," the new CBS All Access series starring Patrick Stewart as the iconic Star Trek Captain Jean-Luc Picard, but it's more than likely been some time since you last sat down and binged all seven seasons of "The Next Generation" or "Voyager." And let's face facts, you probably haven't rewatched "Star Trek: Nemesis" for ages.

The fourth Star Trek series or movie you should watch in the order is the one that started it all - Star Trek: The Original Series. Created by Gene Roddenberry, this first Star Trek entry would kick off a chain reaction that would end up creating one of the most beloved IPs of all time. However, it almost never made it to that legendary status as its low ratings led to a cancellation order after just three seasons that aired from 1966 to 1969. Luckily, it found great popularity after that and built the foundation for all the Star Trek stories we have today.

So, yes, the last season of Picard is finally giving us what the show arguably should have been from the start: a full-fledged Next Generation reunion featuring the entire original cast (plus a few fun surprises). But for better or worse, this is the movie version of a TNG reunion. And underneath that, it's still a season of Picard, with all of the near-misses and unevenness and frustration that entails.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Pirate lovers of all ages are invited to W.M. Turner Auditorium to see any of the eight performances of "How I Became a Pirate," a one-hour musical which the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre is presenting as part of its 2012 summer theatre season Friday, June 22, to Saturday, July 14.

Director Angela Bacarisse, associate professor of theatre, said Melinda Long's best-selling children's book of the same title was one of her son's favorites. She had always thought it would make a great play and was excited to find Janet Vogt and Mark Friedman's adaptation.

The fast-paced family musical follows young Jeremy Jacobs on an adventure-filled afternoon with a band of pirates led by Captain Braid Beard.

Dallas senior Jennifer Suter, who portrays Swill, called the play "an adorable story," and The Woodlands sophomore Nick Pinelli, who plays Max, said he laughed the entire way through his initial reading of the script.

"There are humorous antics and dialogue throughout; the adults, in particular, will enjoy the references to 'Gilligan's Island' and the original 'Star Trek' series," said Pinelli. "And everyone will love the songs, especially 'Talk Like a Pirate.'"

In addition to the humor, the story has a lesson, explained Bacarisse. "Jeremy thinks it will be fun to live without chores or rules or homework, but when he discovers pirates must also complete jobs and that thunderstorms are no fun without his mom and dad's arms around him, he decides a little homework might not be so bad after all!"

To accommodate children, families and groups, "How I Became a Pirate" will be presented at three different times of day. Early evening performances at 6:30 p.m. are scheduled for Friday, June 22; Saturday, June 23; Saturday, June 30; and Saturday, July 14.

Matinees at 2 p.m. will be presented on Sunday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 3. Morning performances at 10 a.m. will be offered on Thursday, July 12, and Friday, July 13.

The other show included in SFA's summer theatre schedule is Robert Harling's "Steel Magnolias." The comedy that inspired the blockbuster film will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28; Friday, June 29; Friday, July 6; Saturday, July 7; and Tuesday, July 10. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be offered on Thursday, July 5, and Sunday, July 8.

Tickets for "How I Became a Pirate" are $6 for individuals or $5 each for groups of 20 or more. Tickets for "Steel Magnolias" are $12 for adults and $6 for seniors and students.

W.M. Turner Auditorium is located in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 Alumni Drive.
