The students’ association and the department of Indology
of the University of Tübingen invite all to a:
Concert of indian Classical Music
Deobrat Mishra (Sitar)
Prashant Mishra (Tabla)
Friday, November 17th at 6 p.m.
Venue: Institute of Psychology, Schleichstraße 4, Room 4.326
Entrance: free (voluntary donations possible)
Deobrat Mishra and Prashant Mishra, two virtuos Indian musicians from Benares (Varanasi), are regarded as exceptional artists of the classical Hindustani music belonging to the expressive Benares Gharana tradition of Indian music. As son and grandson as well as students of the renown Pandit Shivnath Mishra, they follow in his lead to make the Gharana appreciated by a world-wide audience. In compliance with this, Deobrat and Prashant Mishra will give us the honour of a free concert to provide Tübingen with a chance of enjoying their outstanding art of Sitar and Tabla performance.
After the concert the students’ association of Indology will supply chai, drinks and snacks (for a small contribution towards expenses) to provide for a jovial get-together and to allow for exchange with the musicians for those who are interested.
