Hello,

My name is Grant Hawkes.  I attended some of the first Tucson Startup Drinks meetings a couple of years ago but I have been MIA since then.  I still read every post that comes from the group and I enjoy keeping up with what everyone is up to.

I just released a product called BlueShoop.  It is a multi-computer clipboard application that allows you to share text, websites, and files wirelessly.  It utilizes Bluetooth to send the contents of the clipboard and it is peer-to-peer.  I envisioned it being used it such settings as meetings, trade shows, conferences, study groups, etc...

When creating BlueShoop I started out by solving a problem that I was experiencing.  When utilizing disconnected laptops at home and at work it was always a pain to transfer things from the network to the portable machine (documents, registration keys, and so on).  I thought it would be great to move objects very simply between the machines, without them being on the same network (and without having to find a Flash drive that I would inevitably lose).  BlueShoop also doesn’t require people to exchange contact information such as email or IM handle.  For more details check out www.blueshoop.com

BlueShoop is Windows only and I developed it using C#.  I am hosting the site on discountasp.net with an Azure Table Storage backend for authentication and licensing.  I am trying out mixpanel for my analytics and so far it seems much simpler than Google Analytics (both in good and bay ways).  Currently I am using PayPal is handle purchases due to its simplicity.

For marketing I plan on targeting site specific self-serve advertising such as reddit.com.  I used Google AdWords (and their competitors) in the past with very poor results.  I did not like the lack of transparency in the pay-per-click advertising model.  Then again, maybe I am just bad at SEO and write boring ads Smile emoticon.  I may try Google/Bing again, but I will jump in with a much smaller budget.

If there are any questions that I can answer please let me know.  Also, if anyone wants a license key or two to try out the full feature set just email me.

Thanks,
- Grant Hawkes

Would love to hear experiences you have with this. Especially if you want to come give a talk that would be awesome :).
