Are psionic!? Oh WotC, you just lost a lot of folks with that
one...maybe a good read through will make me feel better about this...

Oh my. Monks have something going on, that's for sure, but whether it
is something I like. . .

I like the idea of the Full Discipline attacks. Basically some
attacks grant you movement abilities when you use them. The simplest
is their first at-will that gives you a +2 to speed for your move
action, but some grant shifts or leaps or other things. I like that,
pretty monklike. Like 3.5 monks they can do some crazy supernatural
shit at higher levels, like walk on the ceiling and gain reach with
their melee attacks. It is all the baggage that being a psionic
character brings. Some people won't like it just because it is
psionic, regardless how solid the rules seem.

I think if I mentally replace all occurances of psionic
with . . .mystic, or kung fu, or something, my anxiety lessens.
Anyone else seen it? What do you think?

Reading it now. I may roll up one at 6th, just because we're used to seeing what 6th levels can do...

At first I thought they were pretty underpowered, but now I realize you can do everything in a full-discipline as long as you have the actions... makes them a little irksome, as they are kind of like a barbarian (or any controller): more defined by their powers than class features. Which could lead to issues when multiclassing. The idea that the monk is psionic only because they need to be something and ki is out suits me just fine. My general like of psionics aside it's good to see they don't feel a need to shoehorn every class based on power source. And it fits, too. 3E psychic warriors made great monks (better than monks, things evened out a bit more in 3.5), and Githzeri are a little more consistant now.

But really, Colin was right. We don't need: 'asian' as a power source. Ninja are rogues, samurai are fighters.

May actually be a bit underpowered, since Wisdom appears to be the controller build and I didn't take too many controller powers. Also I didn't see much better than the two weapon fighting options for feats (hence all the weapon powers).

Not going to deal more damage per round than an archery ranger or rogue, but mobile as heck.

They seem very controllery. And not in a warlock status effect way,
that one power that allows you to slide every enemy you shift through
would make any invoker or dragon sorcerer drool.
