So, I've been drumming up a one-off for a Star Wars: Saga Edition game
in my head for awhile now and I'm at the point where I'm thinking of
trying to run it soon. It will be set in the Old Republic era, for 1st
level characters. If it is well liked, I might consider making a
running campaign out of it, but for now it's just a one-off idea. I'm
putting this out there to see who's interested/available and what
times people are free, if interested.

Mmmmm.... adventure in a galaxy a long time ago... I think I'd be up.

You know I'm down for just about anything, and I'm making a character
today, actually, it's just gonna be a matter of when am, "OMG do I
have other games tonight?" Also, place will determine if Laura would
be able to play.

I only played in one saga game.

What times are folks available for this? I'd like to get *any* gaming
right now.

I'm good weekday nights from Thur on, and weekends (all day). As for
location, I'm flexible. I understand that if Laura wants to play, it
will have to be at Jerome's place yes? That's central to most of us
(Jay being on the far northwest side). Thoughts?

My schedule is so fookin' restrictive right now. Monday I'm Free.
Tuesday night is Jesse's DnD game. Wednesday night is raiding.
Thursday night I'm free after like 8. Friday raids. Saturday...up in
the air? Sometimes Supernatural, sometimes Unknown Armies, maybe
Exalted? And Sunday is my Dark Heresy game...so that's me. :(

I'm going to go ahead an propose that we shoot for this next Monday (19th). Any objections? Also, I'd like to get a class-count here (i.e what class you would like to play) for session planning purposes. If you don't have the book(s) let me know & I'll hook you up.

I'm kinda back and forth on this, but I'll take the plunge and plan on
being there.

I haven't looked at the rules in quite awhile, but I remember the last
time I did that I kind of liked the idea of a non-jedi force user.

Maybe an Ithorian mystic or something? I downloaded the books. I'll
look at them tomorrow.

It didn't come out "perfect", but you'll get the idea :P.

Jay, the Senator's aide referred to is your character. If you need me
to adjust the Sen. aide part to fit your character idea better, that's
fine. Just let me know. Either way, you'll be friends with the Senator
mentioned.

We're going with the pretense that all the PCs know each other and are
in the habit of teaming up and doing these sorts of things. We can
either sort the "who knows who, and how" here, or we can take a few
mins to hash that out Mon night. I'll be sending out snippets of info
for each player. If you have questions in the meantime, I'll answer
what I can.

On the "bits of info" you all received... The free restricted/rare items mentioned are credit cost-free. Also, lightsabers are not included in that, unless you are a jedi, of course. Even then, the only lightsaber one gets is the basic one or the two-bladed saber-staff.

For great roleplaying and solid sleuthing, mixed with some very funny near blunders (and not killing the evil-looking, info giving NPC on sight), I am bumping the party to 2nd level. From this point, I will be tracking xp in favor of a slow progression. Great game all!

In one of the group's past campaigns, we had a round-robin DMing system and it worked very well. Basically, when one DM was done with whatever scenario they had planned, another would pick up the story and run for awhile. This gave others a chance at the story telling and DMs could dive in and play for a while. It also made players much more invested in the story. I've talked to Colin & Josh about this, and they're on board. What would the rest of you think of giving this a try in our Star Wars game?

Ehhhh might as well make his character useful. We can say that he valiantly stepped in for the Iron Maiden at the last second.

Heroically he snuck up behind her and knocked her out then proceeded to dress up in her armor and wade into battle.

No surprise to the rest of us... I always heard Senators aides were cross-dressers.

Another good game! I'd like to propose we start the round-robin DMing thing. If one of you wants to take the "hot seat" for a session or two, let us know. Otherwise, I'll plan on running things next Mon. Josh is out for 2 weeks, so I (or the next GM) will need to write him out for a session or two. Also, Colin mentioned last night that he may need an earlier stopping time from now on.

Later tonight, I will post an Epilogue for last night's session & have a loot list for all of us to fight over :P.

Lewt:

  1. holocron w/the spirit of an Aing Tii monk within - each force sensitive character that meditates with this holocron for 1 day gains access to a talent from the Aing Tii monk talent tree (one per character).

  2. Sen. Vohsk awards the party with 50,000 credits for saving his skin.

  3. Medium battle armor w/helmet package & 2 enhancement slots.

  4. One Geonoshan anti-grav pod (organic)

  5. two med packs

  6. two holo-recorder/emitters (with transmit & receive capacity)

  7. various parts equaling 2 protocol droids

Before leaving Geonosis, it is learned that Vorta Miran put up a valiant fight, but was defeated in her first match. She leaves a recorded message thanking Novak for giving her the opportunity to partake in her peoples traditions, and she thanks Gerreth for... ahem... stuff.

The party makes it back to Coruscant (the ship barely makes it there) with Sen. Vohsk & master Zizoon. The Senator rewards the party (see above) for saving his skin, but does absolutely nothing in the way of giving you public recognition. Instead, he mentions that he might have need of such a capable (don't laugh) group, such as yourselves, in the future. Master Zizoon heads to the Jedi temple to meditate on his ordeal.

With teamwork, quick thinking, and a lot of luck the party has succeeded and survived its first true mission. Now you have but to use your newly required resources to better your group, and wonder what fate has in store for you next!
