Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.
I have premium and the first problem is an issue on both desktop and Android and the second problem is more related to Android but I'd imagine it would affect desktop as well but I don't download on that version.
Since the June update it seems there's no way to only listen to the tracks you like from an album in the order they appear on the album without having to like the whole album and manually skipping through the songs you don't like.
Also I've noticed that my downloads has ballooned on Spotify because all the albums that I previously downloaded on the tracks I actually saved now has downloaded all the tracks from the album even if I don't have them as saved. This sounds like a different issue but because of how you changed everything with the update, with one thing getting fixed it would fix the other as well.
To answer your question, you'll no longer be able to save albums partially. You can either save entire albums, which will appear under Albums, or you can add the individual songs from the album - these will be added to your Liked Songs playlist.
I have read through it multiple times but you didn't actually answer my main question. How do you play songs in order on an album if you don't want to hear every track on the album? It used to be that since you could see only saved tracks in albums you could play just those songs. With the new Liked Songs way there is no way to play them this way unless you save the entire album and manually skip through the songs you don't like.
Also, as I stated since you changed how it works all the album I had previously downloaded only partially are now fully downloaded on my phone which I feel is pretty bad business practice since you're forcing me to take up more space on my phone.
Since you can only save entire albums, unfortunately there is no way to listen to albums partially. You can get around this problem either by adding the songs you want to hear from the album to your Queue, or you can create a playlist with just the songs that you want to listen to.
Since we designed a massive UI overhaul and didn't have anyone test it or give us feedback on it (which is standard practice), you'll just have to suck it up and listen to music the way we tell you to!
Don't worry though, the albums with specific songs you saved for years? You can now create playlists to make up for it. It shouldn't take longer than several weeks :). Or you can add them to the queue manually song by song as you scroll through albums of 20+ songs you don't want to listen to.
Thanks for answering my question. I wish there was an actual solution to the problem. It's like @AvoX said it's really a poor workaround to suggest making playlists of partial albums, so I could then scroll through 100+ playlists that consist of between 3 and 8 songs. You "fixed" something that wasn't broken and actually made it more complicated.
It's really frustrating that you all claimed that this update was at the behest of many user comments, but all over the net all I can see is lot of comments saying how terrible of a redesign this is. The particular problem I brought up is just one of many that have with this new update including how slow the UI is on mobile now.
One of the things that confuse new Spotify users is that when they want to play a song in the album, Spotify doesn't play the exact song they're tapping on. The song that starts playing may be form the same album, or it just comes out of nowhere. So, in this article, we are going to uncover how to play Spotify album in order both on the computer and phone.
Spotify offers two main account types with different tiers and features: Spotify Free and Spotify Premium. If you're on the free version of Spotify, you have access to Spotify's extensive music library and can stream songs online. While this is a great way to enjoy music, there are some limitations when it comes to on-demand listening. Typically, free users cannot play an album in order on mobile devices. On mobile, the free version only allows shuffle play for albums, while some selected playlists offer the ability to play in order. You can see the tracks included in the album on its profile, but if you try to disable the shuffle-only mode on your phone, the app will prompt you to upgrade to Premium to access this feature. Additionally, ads and skip limits will still interrupt your playback, which can be frustrating.
For more control over your listening experience, a subscription is generally required. Currently, both Premium and Basic subscriptions offer this functionality. While the Basic subscription doesn't include Audiobooks access, it provides other Premium benefits, including the ability to play albums in a specific order, just as the artist intended.
There are some slight differences depending on the device you're using. Playing an album in order on Spotify is fully possible on certain devices. If you're using the Spotify app on your desktop or tablet, you won't be limited by the shuffle-only mode. You can play albums, playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks in a specific order even with a free account, allowing you to listen to your favorite albums from start to finish without any interruptions, except for occasional ads.
If you don't plan to subscribe to Premium, consider using tools like ViWizard Spotify Music Converter. These tools can help you access features that are exclusively available to Premium users, giving you more control over your music on Spotify. For the best budget-free experience, ViWizard Spotify Music Converter is the way to go.
If you have a Spotify subscription, you can play albums in order on mobile devices. The shuffle-only mode remains for free tier users, but Premium and Basic users can have the freedom to listen to albums exactly as the artist intended. Here's how to do it:
Given that fact that free-tier users cannot even play an album in order, they lost the best way to appreciate an album, the beauty and the elaboration in the album. Is there a way for free users to listen to Spotify albums playing in order? Sure! By using ViWizard Spotify Music Converter, you can download album from Spotify and then play in order offline without premium. If you are into collecting music, this is also the best way to get albums on your computer.
If you want to unlock some exclusives features for Premium subscribers forever, including full control your contents and playback, downloading music, and ad-free listening, it's always a good idea to use ViWizard Spotify Music Converter to download your favorite contents as MP3s. Then you can transfer them across all your devices to play them even on the most common media players.
Open ViWizard Spotify Music Converter on your computer and it will automatically load the Spotify app. Then go to find albums you want to listen to and copy the album link then paste it into the search bar on the converter. Also, you can directly drag and drop albums from Spotify to the interface of the converter.
Navigate to the menu bar and select the Preferences options then there will pop up a window. In the Settings window, you can personalize the output audio parameters for Spotify music. As there are six audio formats like MP3, AAC, M4A, M4B, FLAC, and WAV, you can set MP3 as the output format. You can also adjust the bit rate, sample rate, and channel.
Once all the setting is finished, click on the Convert button to start downloading and converting Spotify songs to MP3. After the conversion, all the files will be saved to your specified folder. You could browse all the converted songs by clicking on the Converted icon on the converter. Furthermore, you can locate the output folder.
Now you can access the album you have downloaded on your computer. All the songs in the album are listed in the same order as they're on Spotify. Now you can play Spotify album in order without using the Spotify app.
Here's how to get Spotify to play an album in order. With a premium account, you can listen to an album in order on Spotify. Or you can download Spotify songs by using ViWizard Spotify Music Converter. Then you can freely play Spotify songs through other media players in order.
I just recently bought the watch specifically for music. But it appears with Spotify I can only upload playlists. If I want to listen to a specific song I am out of luck unless it randomly pops up on the playlist. There's no way to scroll through the songs, choose an artist or album. Am I missing something? This is crazy to me. If this is the case it's going back. Are all of the watches like this? I don't think it's too much to ask to play the song you want to hear.
Hey there! We actually have a feature request case on this, I will get you added to it. There is no guarantee these changes will be made, but we do appreciate user feedback on how we can improve our products and your customer experience!
I am so sorry no one was on the forums to get this addressed, I should have been more clear that I was responding to the above user. Again, I am sorry that happened and it resulted in you having to sell the device.
This is absolutely dumb to not have option to select particular song in Spotify garmin app. Users are not checking threads like this, however on IQ store page Spotify app has reviews. There is no point of having spotify music app with such a basic feature. Big no no for music option in Garmin watch.
In Spotify you can add a whole album to a playlist with the name of that album in one go. In an album, tap the thee dots -> add to -> new playlist. Of course not ideal, and I would like Garmin and Spotify to include downloading albums on the watch directly, but this still does the job without to much effort.
It can be very frustrating when you want to listen to one song lost somewhere in your playlist. As a workaround, you can use Spotify's search feature to find the specific song or album you want to listen to. You can search by artist, album, or song title, and that should bring up all the relevant results. You can even try to promote your own music, thanks to , and become famous. Don't give up your watch - there are always ways to overcome limitations and make the technology work for you.
