I live in Korea. I have a Korean Cell Provider and phone (Samsung
Galaxy S, Android 2.1)

I'm confused since I have an international carrier. I guess these are
my questions.

1.) Will my local calls be routed through tubaloo while on wireless?
If so are such calls free? If not, can I choose when to route my
local calls through tubaloo, depending on how many free minutes are
left under my carrier's plan?
2.) What is the cost for international calls from Korea to the USA?
3.) What is the cost of international SMS messages.
4.) Are local SMS messages free, if they are placed through
wireless?
5.) Are local SMS messages cheaper if they are placed through tubaloo?

Thanks a bunch. I won't try the service until I'm certain of the cost
from my carrier.

Pete,

Our answers below:

Q1.) Will my local calls be routed through tubaloo while on wireless?
If so are such calls free? If not, can I choose when to route my
local calls through tubaloo, depending on how many free minutes are
left under my carrier's plan?

A1.) There are two ways of routing calls from within the Tubaloo app:
1.- From the dialer use Menu / Manage Rules, you can select when
specific prefixes are routed though the Tubaloo dialer or the Android
default dialer, which by default only routes the calls through your
mobile operator. This prefix could be a country-code (ej. 82 for South
Korea - in which case all domestic calls within South Korea will be
included in this rule) or could be as specific as an individual phone
number. The second step to creating this rule is to select whether you
want this prefix to be ALWAYS routed through Tubaloo, or NEVER routed
through Tubaloo. We cannot do this based on plans/minutes related to
your relationship with your mobile operator as we have no way of
knowing the status on our side. Only calls to other Tubaloo numbers
(01.688.XXX.YYYY) are free.
2.- The second way that calls are routed in Tubaloo are in the
Network Preferences settings from the Dialpad: Menu / Preferences.
This uses Tubaloo's MINU$® (Mobile Intelligent Network Utilization
System) to route the calls via the radio with least cost option
available: WiFi, 3G/4G, Public Network Redial/GSM (in that order).

Q2.) What is the cost for international calls from Korea to the USA?

A2.) The cost for international calls to the public network are listed
on our website at http://help.tubaloo.com/rates/ and are the same
irregardless of point of origination of the call.
All calls to the USA are USD$0.0250 / minute.

Q3.) What is the cost of international SMS messages.
Q4.) Are local SMS messages free, if they are placed through
wireless?
Q5.) Are local SMS messages cheaper if they are placed through
tubaloo?

A3,A4,A5.) We do not provide any SMS services at this time.

Please also refer to the Help page to better understand how the
service works and what it costs, specifically check the table at this
link: http://help.tubaloo.com/#Q5

Thanks for trying Tubaloo, we hope we can help.
