the location of the snipping tool program is %windir%\systems32\SnippingTool.exe
I created a shortcut on the Public Desktop
so I wondering if this is a error with the search function and reindexing

I have worked on a HHUUGGEE number of Windows servers and desktop over my career and rarely have the search function not worked. When it did not work it was matter of re-indexing or enabling the service.

I got rid of Cortana for security reasons but I just click "all apps" scroll down to "windows accessories" scroll down to "snipping tool". I would drag it to the task bar for future 1 click access. I was surprised by how much I use it.

I am in a position where I need to take a screenshot of specific coordinates of the screen and save that screenshot to a particular folder on my machine. Since the default Power Automate functionality only allows me to take screenshots of the entire screen or foreground window, I have turned to trying to automate the Snipping Tool to accomplish this goal.

Line 53 tries to click the top of the address bar to manually type in the location of the folder in which I would like to save the file. The workflow fails on line 53 every time, prompting me that it cannot find the UI element. I have edited the UI selector (both window and actual menu item) to try to strip out as many unnecessary indicators as I could, leaving only the window name "Save As" and the name "Address".

**It's worth noting that when the bot fails to capture the UI element.... if I simply click on the failed location and click "Run from here", the bot does find the UI object it is looking for and continues to function as it should. It always fails when running the bot from the beginning.

Hi, just asking how to get the snipping tool app location in the laptop? I am using Windows 11 and I cant seem to find snipping tool location which does not allow me to use the run application function in Power Automate Desktop.

If you use snipping tool (Win+Shift+S) while secondary display is connected to a laptop the snipping area does not cover both screens! The only thing that seems to 'resolve' this is setting both of your screens to 100% scale (bellow the recommended 125% on laptop monitor), which is not an option, because the second screen text then becomes too small to read.

I've tried reporting this twice via feedback hub twice since September 2021, noone got back to me. My apologies if this post does not belong here, but I don't know where else to post this to get MS to start resolving this issue. It is very frustrating and a major productivity bottleneck.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I use the Snipping Tool a good bit myself. Since it's a utility that is provided by the Windows operating system, I doubt that there's anything that Evernote could do to change the way it functions.

However, Evernote includes its own screen clipping utility, accessed by holding the Win key + PrintScreen. Press that and you get a set of cross-hairs with a little instruction box. Click and drag to select an area of the screen; when the area is selected, it will automatically be clipped to a new Evernote. With a little practice it becomes quite easy.

Hi. If the snipping tool puts an image on the clipboard it should immediately be pastable into an Evernote note. I don't actually use it - I prefer the Evernote clipper @Dave-in-Decatur mentioned. (In addition to what Dave said, if you hold the Shift key when clipping the snip will be saved to your desktop.)

To add even another way the EN clipper has an option for screenshot. If you use this option you are presented with a dialog box which will let you edit the clip, tag the clip, add a remark, and select a notebook. FWIW.
