failure in Navigation

I'm running the stable ROM from the CyanogenMod group on a HTC aria.
Google maps is updated to the latest version. I get the following
error message when I run navigation "The application TTS Service
(procss android.tts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Any
ideas for fixes?
